SIBUR’s employees' families took part in the #SIBURFamily Volunteering Challenge

12 july 2022

SUBR has just celebrated the completion of its SIBURFamily Challenge conducted as part of the company’s Formula for Good Deeds social investment program. The challenge was joined by employees of ZapSibNeftekhim, Kazanorgsintez, Petrochemical Transportation Company, and SiburTyumenGas as well as by members of their families. The most active participants turned out to be from Kazan and Tobolsk.

Meet our participants:

All members of the Orlovs family, except their youngest son, happen to be employed by Kazanorgsintez. Several times a year, the Orlovs arrange subscriptions to magazines and newspapers on behalf of orphanages and rest homes for the elderly. In June, they arranged yet another subscription to a newspaper for a Kazan-based social shelter for children and teenagers and another subscription to a newspaper on behalf of a rest home for elderly people in Arsk.

I hope that there will come a time when people will be doing good and kind things without thinking twice. Just as shown in the old animated cartoon For no special reason, remember? After all, by helping others, be that a loved one or a complete stranger, we ultimately do good to ourselves and everyone else around us, Olga Orlova, head of the Science and Technology Library, a part of Kazanorgsintez’s Intellectual Property Department, commented.

In Kazan, the Challenge was joined by the families of the Mukhamedovs and the Safins. Ilsiyar Mukhamedova and three of her children took a trip to Moms of Kazan, a local non-profit charitable association, to donate items of clothing, books, groceries, and children’s toys. In addition to being philanthropists, Marat Safin and his daughter also happen to write poems about their good deeds:

One fine day a tiny girl came and asked her dad:
“Can you teach me what is good and what is really bad?”
All her daddy said “Of course, this is very easy:
Help the Formula for Good Deeds, that’s all there’s to it

The families of the Soshkas, Karimovs and Silchenkos are busy doing volunteering work in the city of Tobolsk. The Soshkas visited Tobolsk’s Center for Foster Care and Foster Family Support where they held a master class on painting on wooden pins and badges. The Karimovs decided to help a local animal shelter that they had learned about through social media. They bought and delivered meat-based treats for the shelter’s inhabitants. Members of the Silchenkos family who happen to be
environmental activists tailored and sewed together beautiful and easy-to-use make-up bags for dancers with disabilities, recycled out of banner fabric.

The Solovyevs from Perm advocate separate waste collection and rational use of plastics: as part of their involvement in the challenge, they collected plastic caps to assemble a Recycled Rocket, and then shared their lifehacks on social media.

Alena Sergeyeva from Nizhnevartovsk is an ambassador of the Formula for Good Deeds social investment program. Together with her family, Alyona visited a social shelter at Nizhnevartovsk’s Integrated Social Service Center for Minors where she gave a master class on making mugs.

Our carousel showcases input made by the challenge participants published on social media under the hashtags of #SIBURFamily and #SIBURVolunteers. Each participant will be rewarded with a SIBUR volunteer’s e-certificate.

This year will see a whole series of volunteering challenges take place as part of SIBUR's volunteering program, dedicated to such themes as eco-volunteering, social volunteering, animal volunteering, silver volunteering, and so on.
