ZapSibNeftekhim’s employees took part in the Box of Courage campaign

21 june 2021

Employees of ZapSibNeftekhim took part in a nation-wide campaign called the Box of Courage. In just under a month, the company's staff collected dozens of toys for young patients of Tobolsk’s Regional Hospital No. 3 and donated them to the medical facility.

The idea behind the campaign is to brighten up young patient’s hospital stay and help make it beneficial not just for their health, but also for their personal development. For every procedure administered to the child, such as an injection, connection to an IV line, or any other medical intervention, he or she would get one toy: a doll, a toy car or, say, a drawing pad and a set of paints, a Lego set, jigsaw puzzles.

The very first Box of Courage was donated to the medical institution on Children's Day. The second Box of Courage filled with toys was provided to the volunteering center on June 11, on the eve of Russia Day.

On top of the fact that, for more than five years, SIBUR has been running its own social investment program, the Formula for Good Deeds, the company's employees have traditionally taken part in many charitable events and volunteering projects. To give a couple of examples, at the end of last December we donated decorated Christmas trees to patients of the mono-hospital in Neighborhood 7A and to wards of Tobolsk’s Chapter of the All-Russian Society of the Disabled. On New Year’s eve, we paid a visit to the wards of this non-profit organization and presented them with gifts. Right before the March 8 holiday, we arranged a real party for moms of children with disabilities. Through their participation in the Box of Courage campaign, employees of ZapSibNeftekhim have an opportunity to share their kindness, care and joy with the city’s little residents, Elena Belskaya, Head of ZapSibNeftekhim's Government Relations Department, noted.

For years, Tobolsk’s SIBUR has been our hospital’s social partner, supporting us in many significant ways. For example, during the trying pandemic period of 2020, the company helped the hospital purchase a gas condenser needed to ensure stable running of the lung ventilator while also providing our medical staff with PPE kits. This time, thanks to their participation in the Box of Courage campaign, the company’s employees have helped us turn our young patients’ stay at our hospital into a more positive experience. The campaign is still going on, and it can still be supported by employees of other facilities, institutions and organizations in our city and by all other caring Tobolsk residents. You can help make children happier by gifting them board games, dolls, toy cars, construction sets. It is important to make sure that all such items are clean, brand new, in their original packaging and are safe for children, Julia Zenkova, Deputy Chief Physician of Regional Hospital № 3 responsible for outpatient care, says.
