Thanks to SIBUR's support, the Draw&Go art studio offered its painting master classes in Nizhnekamsk for the first time

31 october 2023

On October 20 through 29, the Draw&Go art studio from Moscow gave its first free painting classes in Nizhnekamsk. The master classes were taught by professional artists - former graduates of Russia's top universities including Sergei Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography, Vasily Surikov Moscow State Institute of Fine Arts, Iosif Bakstein Institute of Contemporary Art, and Ilya Glazunov Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. The project was implemented thanks to the support of the Formula for Good Deeds, SIBUR's social investment program.

400 guests attended 28 free painting master classes held at the local House of Folk Crafts.
310 works of art were put on display at a special exhibition held on October 29. It was at this exhibition that 8 winning works were selected in the following categories: watercolors, acrylics, pastels, and markers.

The winners were awarded with special fluid art kits from Draw&Go. In addition, their works will be featured on posters and billboards throughout the city.

Alla Mitryakova, a participant of one of the master classes:
“That was an excellent master class. It was perfectly organized, the instructors were very professional, all the materials we needed were provided to us. The class's overall atmosphere was a positive one. I would like to thank SIBUR for the opportunity to create something beautiful!”

On October 22, the studio also taught master classes for Nizhnekamsk’s art teachers. The intensive course's program included decorative interior painting with acrylic paint using Draw&Go's own original technique, fluid art with liquid acrylic, fashion illustration inspired by famous illustrators René Gruau, Antonio Lopez and David Downton, as well as a discussion of the process of interacting with one’s students as described in a special guidebook compiled by the studio's art director Kristina Galochkina. The artists will be able to apply all the knowledge acquired during their training to their day-to-day work and to the interactions with their students while promoting contemporary painting trends in their home city.

Lyudmila Naideno, a participant of the intensive master class:
“I was really happy to be able to attend the master class! I had been looking forward to such an opportunity here in Nizhnekamsk for quite some time as I had read a lot of positive things about you on the Internet. It's a pity that one could only take part in just one master class. But it was incredible and delightful otherwise! I am now inspired to try to master other techniques as well. The instructors were super! Thank you so much!”

Elena Snezhko, Head of the Formula for Good Deeds, SIBUR's social investment program:
“We are delighted to have been able to expand the geography of the project run by the Draw&Go studio and to introduce it in Nizhnekamsk. These master classes help artists and designers not only to master new art techniques and improve their skills, but to also make themselves visible as professionals. The project has stirred up a lot of interest on the part of the city's residents: the master classes were attended by more than 400 participants”.
