31 january 2022

SIBUR and the Moscow Design Museum organized an exhibition of eco-design called FANTASTIC PLASTIC, hosted by the Tobolsk Center for Creative Initiatives. The exhibition featured works by more than 40 foreign and Russian designers and design studios including jewelry, items of clothing and footwear, and art installations made out of recycled and reused plastics. The exhibits were provided by designers from the Netherlands, China, Germany, Kenya, Russia, and other countries. The exhibition will run through January 31, 2022.
On January 31st, the exhibition’s last day, Alexandra Sankova, the founder and director of the Moscow Design Museum, a designer and a design historian, will give a lecture and conduct a curator' tour of the exhibition to showcase the works by foreign and Russian designers and design studios.

Alexandra Sankova's lecture "How Can a Museum Survive the Pandemic?" will highlight some of the museum concepts and present the brightest museums and exhibitions that have opened in the past two years. You will learn why it is important to remain observant, open and interdisciplinary, and how one can still develop a museum during the pandemic, and use volatile situations to keep growing.
