SIBUR has been a partner of CASE-IN, an International Engineering Championship, since 2018. The project serves to promote engineering careers, assist its participants in acquiring hands-on knowledge about their future professions. The project is being implemented as part of the federal-level Social Mobility for Everyone project run under the auspices of the national Education project.

The CASE-IN International Engineering Championship ®

is a framework of competitions on solving applied engineering cases, aimed at schoolchildren, students and junior engineers representing the fuel and energy and the mineral resources sectors, the nuclear industry, and other affiliated industries. In 2019, the championship was ranked among the world’s Top 15 Olympiads, according to the RAEX rating agency (RAEX-Analytics).

SIBUR has been a strategic partner of the Petrochemicals track. The company's experts act as members of the jury, and they also attend the final defense of projects submitted by championship participants to offer innovative solutions to real-life challenges, such as maintaining smooth and efficient operation of petrochemicals plants.


In 2020, SIBUR supported three CASE-IN championship leagues: the schoolchildren's, the students' and the young professionals' leagues. In addition to serving on expert panels, SIBUR’s specialists took part in a plenary session and a Career Day introducing project participants to a potential career with SIBUR. Nine SIBUR teams took part in the Young Professionals’ League’s activities. The Smart Upgrade team from SIBUR-Neftekhim (Dzerzhinsk) won their league’s tournament in the Petrochemicals field.
2021 saw SIBUR act in its capacity of a strategic partner of the Petrochemistry Division of the Championship’s Student League for the third year in a row. In keeping with the established tradition, SIBUR's top experts participated in the development of test cases for the participants of the engineering competition and provided their expert assessment of the submitted projects. The company also supported the School League and the Young Professionals League.
In 2022, the final phase of the 10th season of the International Engineering CASE-IN Championship in Moscow brought together 600 students from specialized universities as well as young professionals of leading companies representing 42 regions of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan. For three days, the contestants competed with each other by demonstrating their innovative Industry 4.0 ideas to the country's professional community, vying for the top prizes of the competition's tenth anniversary season. The prizes awarded to the tournament’s winners included internships and employment with the championship’s partner companies, enrollment in postgraduate and master’s degree programs of partner universities on preferential terms. The winners in the Young Professionals category will have an opportunity to join their companies' management talent pool and discover new career opportunities.

In 2022 alone, the championship was attended by more than 10,000 schoolchildren and college students majoring in the fields of fuel and energy, minerals extraction, nuclear industry, and other related industries, who were offered the opportunity to increase their level of professional knowledge and improve their soft skills.
In 2023, more than 10,000 students took part in solving real-life industrial tasks in the CASE-IN International Engineering Championship. 117 higher education institutions of the country provided favorable admission conditions for the champions and prize-winners, young specialists got the opportunity to join the management talent pool of the sponsoring companies.
