The Recycling Workshop:
How SIBUR Teaches Resource Conservation Through Practice
"The Recycling Workshop" is a comprehensive project of the "Formula for Good Deeds" programme, implemented from 2020 to 2025. Our goal is to practically engage residents, primarily schoolchildren, in a waste separation system, visually demonstrating the complete recycling cycle. In 2021, the project was recognised in the "Our Contribution" ranking for its contribution to the implementation of the national "Ecology" project.

Our Mission
Our Mission is to change environmental consciousness through action, creating functional recycling models in cities where the personal experience of transforming waste into objects fosters a new culture of consumption and responsibility for one's environment.
Strategic Objectives:
Introducing participants firsthand to the technologies of plastic waste recycling.
Cultivating a culture of separate waste collection by creating infrastructure and enabling personal involvement.
Transforming recycled materials into useful household items and elements of urban improvement.
The project develops along three main tracks, creating a sustainable recycling ecosystem in the cities.
Network of Recycling Workshops: Specialised mini workshops are established in SIBUR's operating cities, where residents learn about the process of recycling plastic waste. In master classes, participants learn to create household items from recycled plastic: tableware, notepads, key chains, and toys.
Infrastructure for Raw Material Collection: Special containers for collecting plastic caps are installed in the cities. Over the project's duration, at least 160 containers have been installed. The collected material serves as feedstock for master classes and the production of larger objects.
All-Russian Competition #Iamakeacleancity: To scale the environmental idea, the project holds an annual competition, which in 2024 alone attracted the attention of over 2,100 schoolchildren from 33 regions of Russia, fostering a caring attitude towards nature.
SIBUR's Contribution:
Creator of a Practical Recycling Ecosystem
SIBUR acts as a systemic integrator, not only financing but also physically creating a functional model of a circular economy in the cities.
Infrastructure Builder
The company organises the opening of workshops and the installation of recycling containers, providing the material foundation for environmental education.
Organiser of Hands-on Learning
SIBUR ensures the holding of master classes where recycling theory is instantly confirmed by practice—creating one's own object from recycled materials, which is the most effective educational method.
The "The Recycling Workshop" is a model of environmental education through practice. The project gives city residents, especially children, not abstract slogans but real tools and skills for responsible consumption, turning them from observers into active creators of a cleaner and more conscious environment.
