SIBUR volunteers helped to green Leninsky district of Krasnoyarsk

The tree planting campaign was held in Krasnoyarsk as part of SIBUR's forest-climatic program "Green Formula". The event was organized jointly with the administration of the Leninsky district of Krasnoyarsk and the municipal enterprise "Management of Green Construction". More than 20 employees of the Krasnoyarsk Synthetic Rubber Plant (KZSK) took part in the eco-initiative. Thanks to the efforts of volunteers, 80 ordinary pine trees appeared in the squares near the Krastets Recreation Center and the Siberia stadium. Dmitry Guryev, Head of the Leninsky District Administration in the city of Krasnoyarsk: "It's always nice when large enterprises help to green our area, make it more attractive. We tried to find locations where the participation of volunteers is most significant and tangible. One of the plots is located in the immediate vicinity of the enterprise, so now the KZSK employees will regularly observe how the planted trees take root and grow." Sergey Novikov, General Director of Krasnoyarsk Synthetic Rubber Plant: "Many thanks to all colleagues for supporting this initiative of the company! I always try to participate in such actions and show by personal example that volunteering and caring for the environment are an integral part of our corporate culture. I am very glad, today we worked together, it was a real team effort. Colleagues work well both at the enterprise and at volunteer actions." Before the start of the campaign, a master class was held for volunteers: they demonstrated the technology of planting trees with a closed root system and explained how to ensure survival. After the planting, watering of the planted trees was organized. Alexey Dyakov, Chief Engineer of the Krasnoyarsk Synthetic Rubber Plant: "This is a very useful action to improve the ecology in Krasnoyarsk, landscaping is always important and tangible for the transformation of the territory. It is especially pleasant that the result of our work is immediately visible – green squares with coniferous trees appeared in two places at once. I hope that other organizations and enterprises of the district will support our activity and together we will make our area green and comfortable for life." Careful attitude to nature is one of the priorities in the implementation of SIBUR's Sustainable Development Strategy: by 2025, the company plans to plant at least 5 million trees in the regions where it operates. In total, since the start of the Green Formula forest climate program in 2022, more than 1,800 young oak trees, Manchurian walnut, Manchurian ash, Mongolian oak, Amur linden, Siberian linden, bearded maple, small-leaved maple and common pine have been planted in Krasnoyarsk. It is planned to plant at least five thousand seedlings in the region by the end of the year.
