Attendees of TobolFilm’s master classes have mastered acting and cameraman skills

31 july 2023

Exclusive master classes for actors, directors and cameramen have been held at the Tobol theme park as part of the TOBOLFILM project. The project is being implemented with the support of SIBUR's social investment program, the Formula for Good Deeds. It seeks to facilitate development of film tourism in Tyumen Oblast.

Stage and film actress and director Elena Borzova gave a master class on public speaking. Alexander Negruk, a member of the Union of Cinematographers, introduced the audience to the work of a cameraman. The attendees took part in a master class on stage fighting taught by Vladislav Shklyaev-Korsunsky, a member of the Guild of Russian Film Actors.

The master classes were attended by more than 70 participants from several cities of Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug and Tyumen Oblast.

Elena Borzova, stage and film actress, director:

I am grateful to the organizers for the opportunity to meet people who are interested and eager to change their destiny. Because all master classes give one an opportunity to change and to grow. I have been introduced to people who want to excel at this, and they are succeeding. I am grateful to them for trying hard, for being creative and committed. Thank you very much!

Alexander Negruk, member of the Union of Cinematographers:

I was quite impressed by the city, its infrastructure, and the incredible locations that it offers to a cameraman. I was also pleased with the large turnout of participants coming to my lectures every day.

Vladislav Shklyaev, member of the Guild of Russian Film Actors:

The TOBOLFILM project has provided me with the opportunity to teach master classes on stage fighting. The classes were attended by people with diverse backgrounds, of whom very few were professional actors. And in these short few days we were able to practice the principles of self-discipline and discover ways to accomplish something in a short span of time. By sticking to this method, one can become a semi-professional actor and take part in all of TOBOLFILM's projects going forward.

Upon completing their master classes, all willing participants could become extras in a short feature film titled "Once Upon a Time in Tobolsk".

The film is expected to premiere as part of Alafey Hill 2024, an open festival of Russian contemporary and modern cinema.
