SIBUR has taken stock of the results of its annual company-wide campaign known as the Get to be a Santa Claus! carried out as part of the Formula for Good Deeds social investment program. The company's employees in 27 cities across Russia have helped fulfil coveted wishes of children going through a difficult period in their lives: one could either give a specified gift to the child who had asked for one, or pick something to their own liking, or even take part in raising funds for centralized procurement of gifts or for arranging celebrations.

Elena Snezhko, head of SIBUR's Formula for Good Deeds social investment program:
"Every year, our entire company looks forward to the arrival of winter to once again experience the magic of the New Year’s Eve and share this magic with others. In 2023, the Formula for Good Deeds implemented the tenth edition of the company-wide campaign Get to be a Santa Claus!. We joined hands with our colleagues across the board to help fulfill wishes of more than 1,800 children living in the 27 cities where SIBUR has a presence. We would like to thank everyone who responded to our call and joined our good initiative! Our special words of thanks go out to the teams that helped organize New Year's Eve celebrations and shows for the children using just their own resources. You all are people with huge hearts!"

The company’s employees not only helped grant the kids' New Year's wishes, but they also organized New Year’s parties and staged theatrical performances for them all on their own. To use just one example, volunteers of the company’s Bashkortostan-based POLIEF facility offered the little residents of the Krasnovoskhodskaya residential care facility and school to play an interactive game requiring the players to help the game’s protagonists get from the universe of RUBIS to that of SIBUR. The game’s characters demonstrated chemical experiments and discussed the topics of environmental conservation and recycling.

Another premiere took place in the Perm Krai where Sibur-Khimprom’s employees traveled to the remote city of Kudymkar where they have been arranging New Year's celebration for special needs children since 2017. In all, more than 40 of Sibur-Khimprom employees as well as students from Perm State National Research University and Perm National Research Polytechnic University took part in organizing the festive program.

Sibur-PETF employees in Tver Oblast staged a real winter fairy tale show for the residents of Torzhok’s My Family Center, a center supporting children left without parental care. Having costumed up as Father Frost, the Snow Maiden and as other inhabitants of the forest, the volunteers spent several hours playing games with the children, doing circle dances and singing songs together with them.

Similarly, employees of the Krasnoyarsk Synthetic Rubber Plant chose not to stand aside either and got involved in organizing celebrations for the local children: clad in traditional New Year-themed costumes, the facility’s volunteers held a celebratory New Year’s Eve party for the children residing in Krasnoyarsk’s Samotsvety children’s home.

Vera Mishina, chair of the grassroot-level trade union organization of the Krasnoyarsk Synthetic Rubber Plant:
"We have been coming to the Samotsvety orphanage for the fourth year already. It feels heartwarming that the children really look forward to seeing us and that they give us a very warm reception. They are all very open, eager to share their little "secrets" with us, talk about their plans and about things at school, and ask us question about our facility. Last year, we held a master class on painting gingerbread cookies for them. The kids remembered it and are asking us to do a rerun of the class. We promised them that we would come back to them with the gingerbread cookies, brushes, and paint in the coming year. I am sure that our colleagues will support us in this initiative."

Gulnaz Kamaletdinova, specialist of Kazanorgsintez’s training department:
"The New Year holiday is a time for magic and miracles, a time when our hearts are filled with joy and hope. As we celebrate this holiday, we really want these children to keep believing in kindness and love that always surrounds us. We want to let every child know that they are not alone in this big world, and that there will always be someone who would support them. After all, our collective well-being and happiness are built from such little miracles."
