SIBUR to Start Receiving Applications for the 3rd Contest of Students’ Volunteering Projects

26 april 2021

SIBUR is to start receiving applications for the 3rd Contest of Students’ Volunteering Project as part of its "Formula for Good Deeds" social investment program. The contest invites volunteering projects that can be implemented on-site, by correspondence, or remotely, including when self-isolating.

The contest will be inviting bids from university students representing 14 Russian cities: Blagoveshchensk (Amur Oblast), Vladivostok, Voronezh, Dzerzhinsk, Kazan, Krasnodar, Krasnoyarsk, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Perm, St. Petersburg, Tomsk, Tyumen, and Ufa.

The authors of the winning projects will be provided with up to RUB 50,000 to see their kind initiatives through to fruition in 2021. Grants that will be awarded for implementing volunteering projects will cover the following focus areas:

  • "City": campaigns to beautify territories, redecorate public buildings or spaces, or other projects designed to improve the urban environment..
  • "Public welfare": assistance to those in need, organization of events that involve the elderly, children and adults with health limitations, charges of orphanages and other care institutions.
  • "Environmental Protection": environmental projects, initiatives to help homeless animals and birds, organization of collection of specific kinds of waste, or other projects related to the protection and restoration of the environment.
  • "We are together": assistance to the elderly and to low-mobility individuals, medical staff, as well as other projects that can be implemented by volunteers in the context of the coronavirus pandemic, including remotely.
  • Other unique original projects that will deal with topics that are relevant for the cities where SIBUR operates.

This is the third contest of volunteer applications. Taking stock of the results of the previous contests, together, we have managed to implement 28 projects in 16 cities of Russia, where more than 1,000 people took part in students’ volunteering initiatives. Students are caring, enterprising people, and unorthodox thinkers who get actively involved in attacking the problems they see and they really help change the world around them for the better. We hope that with our support these young men and women will be able to accomplish even more this year, scale up their ideas and come up with new initiatives that will positively affect the quality of life of their fellow residents, says Stanislav Kasparov, Director for Business Support in Regions of SIBUR’s Presence.

The geography and terms of the contest can be found on the Formula for Good Deeds program’s website at https://www.formula-hd.ru/contest/

Applications will be accepted in an electronic format until May 16, 2021 at this link.

The results of the contests will be finalized in June and posted in the News section. Implementation of the supported projects will commence on July 1, 2021.
