TobolFilm provided a glimpse into the plot of a new movie filmed in Tobolsk

2 august 2023

On July 21-30, the Draw&Go studio from Moscow gave free art lessons in Tobolsk thanks to the support of SIBUR's social investment program, the Formula for Good Deeds. The master classes were taught by professional artists - former graduates of Russia's top universities including Sergei Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography, Vasily Surikov Moscow State Institute of Fine Arts, Iosif Bakstein Institute of Contemporary Art, and Ilya Glazunov Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. For the first time, the roster of instructors included a guest art teacher from Tobolsk, a TSU alumnus who had taken an intensive art course offered by the Draw&Go studio back in 2022. In all, the city's residents attended 28 master classes on drawing with acrylics, markers, watercolors, and pastels. Some of the new styles covered this year included pop art using acrylics, fluid art using liquid acrylics, and sketching with pastels.

Elena Belskaya, head of the Department for Government Relations at ZapSibNeftekhim LLC:
"Over the course of 10 days, the master classes taught by professional artists were attended by some 500 Tobolsk residents from all walks of life, including beginners and accomplished artists. This is a clear indication that the project appeals to a broad audience, that it is much needed, and that it touched the right nerve. It has received support of the Formula for Good Deeds for the fourth time, and we see that the number of participants just keeps on growing. Some of them make a point of not missing a single season: after having mastered one technique, they come back to study yet another one.”

More than 350 works of art were put on display at a special exhibition held on July 30 at the A. Alyabev Children's School of Fine Arts. For the first time, the number of winners has been increased to 8, representing two finalists in each of the four categories: watercolors, acrylics, pastels, and markers.
And the winners were:
1. Adelina Uteeva, 6, acrylics
2. Albina Oleinik, 22, acrylics
3. Christina Ignatenko, 17, markers
4. Artem Vasiliev, 12, markers
5. Georgy Chibisov, 8, watercolors
6. Timofey Zolnikov, 9, watercolors
7. Margarita Nazarova, 35, pastels
8. Larisa Urubkova, 60, pastels.
All the winners were awarded with special fluid art kits from Draw&Go. In addition, their works will be featured on posters and banners throughout the city.

Mikhail Mikhalev, a parent of a master class participant:
My children really enjoyed the master class where they were taught how to draw outer space with watercolors. They were thrilled to make their own real paintings for the first time and I, as a father, am very satisfied with the event's overall organization and the artistic space they created for it. But the most important thing is that the class was taught by truly professional artists! Every student received individual treatment and was helped to produce a veritable masterpiece!".

On July 23, the Draw&Go team also taught master classes for art teachers. The intensive course's program included decorative interior painting with acrylic paint using Draw&Go's own original technique, fluid art with liquid acrylic, fashion illustration inspired by famous illustrators René Gruau, Antonio Lopez and David Downton, as well as a discussion of the process of interacting with students using a special handbook by the studio's art director Kristina Galochkina. Every student received a certificate of completion, an art kit for abstract painting with gold leaf, and access to Draw&Go's original online painting classes. This year was the first time when art instructors were offered an opportunity to intern at an existing art studio in Tobolsk.

Natalia Bekasova, a participant of the master class:
"I really enjoyed the master class. I learned a lot of new things including a few new techniques. I will be sure to use this knowledge going forward and pass it on to other creative people. Thank you!".
