Supported by SIBUR, Draw&Go, a Moscow-based drawing studio, gave painting master classes in Noyabrsk

2 october 2023

On September 15 through 24, Noyabrsk played host to a series of free painting lessons given by Draw&Go, a Moscow-based art studio. The classes were taught by professional artists - graduates of Russia's top universities, including Sergei Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography, Vasily Surikov Moscow State Institute of Fine Arts, and Ilya Glazunov's Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. More than 360 participants attended a total of 28 master classes to learn how to draw with acrylics, markers, watercolors, and pastels. The project was made possible thanks to the support of SIBUR's social investment program - The Formula for Good Deeds.

275 works of art ended up being put on display at a special exhibition held on September 24 сентября at the Yamal Culture and Sports Center.

Deni Islamova, a student at one of the master classes:
«
I am so excited to have been able to attend the workshop. This was my first time trying to paint with pastel colors and I think I did a pretty good job. I owe it all to our great instructors. Despite the fact that the classroom was filled to capacity, Polina, Daniel and Christina managed to share a little bit of their time and attention with each attendee. They explained to us the fundamentals of using such a material as pastel. Again, many thanks, and I would be delighted to come to other such master classes in the future!»

On September 17, the Draw&Go team also taught master classes for art teachers. The intensive course's program included decorative interior painting with acrylic paint using Draw&Go's own original technique, fluid art with liquid acrylic, fashion illustration inspired by famous illustrators René Gruau, Antonio Lopez and David Downton, as well as a discussion of the process of interacting with students using a special handbook by the studio's art director Kristina Galochkina. Every student received a certificate of completion, an art kit for abstract painting with gold leaf, and access to Draw&Go's original online painting classes. This year was the first time when art instructors were offered an opportunity to intern at an existing art studio in Noyabrsk.

Irina Dvurechenskaya, a participant of the master class:
«A very lovely and entertaining master class! I learned a lot of new things including how to use decorative materials in my work. I would like to be able to attend such master classes more often! I will be very really looking forward to your coming back next year!»

Elena Snezhko, Head of The Formula for Good Deeds, SIBUR's social investment program:
We are happy to support initiatives that help people from across the nation to cultivate their creative potential and unlock their talents. Thanks to this project of the Draw&Go studio, the residents of Noyabrsk were able to learn new skills from professional artists and make their own paintings. The attendees of the master classes not only acquired new knowledge, but were also filled with positive energy and inspiration. Outcomes such as these encourage us to go on with the project.”
