Krasnoyarsk residents planted 5000 seedlings of fir trees as part of SIBUR's forest-climatic program "Green Formula"

Krasnoyarsk (Krasnoyarsk Territory), September 30, 2023. In Minino, Yemelyanovsky district of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, employees of the Krasnoyarsk Synthetic Rubber Plant (KZSK), together with partners and residents of the city, planted 5,000 seedlings of Siberian spruce. The event was held within the framework of SIBUR's forest-climatic program "Green Formula" in partnership with the Ministry of Forestry of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. More than a hundred people took part in the volunteer landing, including employees of the KZSK with their families, members of the Veterans Council of the plant and partners of the enterprise — corporate volunteers of the BEAC and activists of the Krasnoyarsk regional center "Yunnaty". The subsequent agrotechnical care of the planted spruce seedlings will be carried out by employees of the Mininsky forestry. We express our gratitude for the invitation and a perfectly organized event!". During the volunteer action, a master class on planting seedlings was also held. It was conducted by the responsible forester of the Mininsky forestry Viktor Sergeevich Garmashov. The volunteers learned that Siberian spruce is highly frost-resistant. The tree is able to survive frosts of more than 45 degrees and successfully grows in regions with extremely low temperatures. This species of the pine family prefers well-lit places with regular abundant moisture and easily coexists with other coniferous and deciduous species. Then Viktor Sergeyevich told and showed the participants how to plant seedlings manually using the Kolesov sword. Andrey Romanchuk, master of KZSK: "I have not participated in such actions before, but after learning about the "Green Formula" I decided to try. I came to the landing with my family, as we are all worried about the state of our vast forests, which are suffering from logging and fires. I believe that such initiatives help to restore at least a small part of the forest. When we planted the trees, it was nice to look at the unity of people for our common and good purpose!". SIBUR's forest-climatic program "Green Formula" started in 2022. The company plans to plant at least 5 million trees in the regions of its presence by 2025. The program includes mass and voluntary tree planting, cooperation with school forestry departments and care for previously planted seedlings. In just two years of the program's implementation, more than 6800 seedlings were planted in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, some of which were included in the forest fund of the Akademgorodok grove named after Academician Vaganov. More than 1,800 young trees were planted there. Three projects of the region were also included in the top ten winners of the grant competition "Green Formula" for schoolchildren and school forestry. With the support of SIBUR, students continue their activities in the field of forest research and environmental protection. Until the end of this year, the students of the "Bryankovskaya school No. 5" are investigating the introduction of oak in northern conditions, activists of the Nazarov school forestry "Eco-school" are engaged in the restoration of the red book species of the Forest Chistets, and the team from the Divnogorsk school forestry "Zharki" are investigating the ecological condition of the areas of the Biryusa, Bolshoy Terel, Malaya and Bolshaya Sluzneva rivers and the Fokin stream. Today we found ourselves in the picturesque area of Minino. It was not easy to plant — the ground was damp and heavy. We hope that our Christmas trees will take root well, and in a few years there will be a good young forest in this clearing. Our veterans are happy to take part in such actions and are always open to good, kind deeds!".
