29 december 2021

Moscow, December 29, 2021 – SIBUR has unveiled the results of its seventh grant contest held as part of the Formula for Good Deeds program. The company intends to support 121 projects in 15 Russian cities in 2022. The geography of the grant contest in 2021 included the city of Nizhnekamsk (Republic of Tatarstan).

In keeping with tradition, a considerable part of winning projects represented such areas as "Sports" and "Culture" (26% of entries each), followed far behind by "Education" (17% of entries) and "Environmental Protection" (15%). (15%), the least number of submissions was in the areas of "Urban" and "Volunteering". State-funded organizations from the public welfare sector including secondary education institutions, sports schools, library centers, and arts centers dominated the list of grantees.

One of the main objectives of the grant contest is to provide all organizations interested in the development of their cities with opportunities to see their plans come to fruition. That is why we are truly pleased that the pool of contest participants is getting continuously updated. This year, I would like to particularly point out a greater level of activity of our inclusive communities, veterans' organizations and "Silver Age" associations. By implementing a wide range of projects we will be able to develop a culture of diversity and create an environment that is comfortable for everyone in our cities, Elena Snezhko, Chief Expert and Head of SIBUR's Formula for Good Deeds Social Investment Program, noted.

The grants’ funds will be used to create new public spaces, to hold city-wide events for young people and sports tournaments for everyone, to develop and launch career guidance programs for school students, to improve natural landscapes, and to implement eco-educational initiatives.

A total of 398 applications were entered in the contest. The winners were selected by a contest committee consisting of the company's representatives in Moscow and the regions, the Formula for Good Deeds' ambassadors and external subject matter experts on key aspects of the submitted applications. In Tobolsk, projects of city-wide significance were put to a vote by local residents

The Formula for Good Deeds, SIBUR's social investment program, has been under implementation since February 2016, in all key cities where the company operates focusing on six key areas: urban development, education and science, sports and healthy living, environmental protection, culture, and volunteering. SIBUR’s corporate volunteering program is another constituent part of the Formula for Good Deeds.

In 2016-2021, more than 780 projects across seventeen cities emerged as grant contests’ winners.

Over the past five years, more than 130 interregional projects have been implemented within the framework of the Formula for Good Deeds program. This was made possible thanks to SIBUR's interaction with such partners as:  the State Theater of Nations, Territoriya Festival and School, VTB United League, Foundation for the Support of Sports and Law Enforcement, the Smart Moscow project, etc.

All in all, more than 6,000 events involving  more than 230,000 participants have been conducted as part of the program.
