Time to Do Good Deeds: Foresight Session on Corporate Volunteering Development Held at Nizhnekamskneftekhim

On February 6, experts from SIBUR's "Formula for Good Deeds" social investment programme conducted a foresight session on the development of corporate volunteering at Nizhnekamskneftekhim. The session brought together 40 leaders and activists from volunteer movements across SIBUR's Nizhnekamsk organisations, including representatives from Nizhnekamskneftekhim, NKNH-UETP, Neftekhimicheskaya Transportnaya Kompaniya, SIBUR-RT, primary trade union organisations of subsidiaries, and others. The development meeting for corporate volunteers was organised by the team from the Department for Relations with Government Bodies and Promotion of Socio-Economic Development in the Regions of Presence at Nizhnekamskneftekhim PJSC. Stanislav Martynenko, Head of the Department for Relations with Government Bodies and Promotion of Socio-Economic Development in the Regions of Presence at Nizhnekamskneftekhim PJSC: "Corporate volunteering is an important tool for the sustainable development of Nizhnekamsk: joint projects by our employees, NGOs, and the municipality are already delivering tangible results for local communities, and residents are eagerly awaiting the continuation of our volunteer projects. Thank you to all the leaders and participants of the volunteer movement for the honest dialogue and proposals — we now have a clear action plan and priority areas for this year. Our task is to turn ideas into sustainable projects that will help make Nizhnekamsk a more comfortable city to live in." At the beginning of the meeting, "Formula for Good Deeds" experts spoke about charity and volunteering within the company, emphasising that anyone with the desire can participate in joint good deeds. Newcomers can help by collecting essential items for those in need and homeless animals, bringing bottle caps to special collection bins for recycling, becoming blood donors, and more. In October, SIBUR's annual grant competition for employee volunteer projects takes place, with winners receiving up to 80,000 roubles to implement their initiatives. For practical work and inspiration, the experts shared successful mass volunteer campaign practices from other Russian cities that have not yet been implemented in Nizhnekamsk. They then conducted a two-hour foresight session for the audience on developing corporate volunteer initiatives. As a result of the discussion, five volunteer teams proposed one unique idea each for implementation in 2026: a festival of creativity and kindness supporting children from social care institutions; team running clean-up competitions (plogging) along the Kama River banks and forest belts; volunteer actions to improve playgrounds in kindergartens; organising accessible training sessions and tournaments in various sports in residential neighbourhoods; and a series of volunteer events to develop the city's tourism potential.
