Tobolsk to Host the Annual Winter Fest Featuring Yana Khokhlova and Roman Lyuduchin

17 december 2021

On December 18 and 19, 2021, Tobolsk’s Krystall sports arena will be hosting the annual Winter Fest festival of winter sports supported by SIBUR as part of its Formula for Good Deeds social investment program. Each time, this annual event is turning into a long-awaited treat for hockey and figure skating fans! The event's master classes for attendees will be led by professional athletes and ice arena stars. In addition, children in hard circumstances have also been invited to take part in the festival. These children will get a chance to see their dreams come true and take their first step into the world of elite sport thanks to the invaluable support from reigning champions.

Roman Lyuduchin, a Candidate Master of Sports and former striker for the Russian national ice hockey team, for Spartak, Lokomotiv and several other Russian and foreign teams, will give a master class on "Real Hockey". Roman has played almost 400 games in the KHL and was nominated for the KHL's 2008-2009 Rookie of the Season Award.

Back when I was still a kid, my dad took me to a hockey game for the first time. This sport was quite popular in my hometown of Penza at the time. I fell in love with ice hockey right away, and I still love it to this day. It became a huge part of my life, helped me develop a strong character and taught me how to be a team player. I want to share this light with the young players and I'm very happy to be a part of the Winter Fest! Roman Lyuduchin said, sharing his memories of the beginnings of his career.

Another master class, "Figure Skating Secrets", will be given by Yana Khokhlova, an Honored Master of Sports, a European Champion, a two-time Russian Champion, a two-time Winter Universiade Champion, a bronze medal winner at the World Championship and a regular participant of the "Ice Age" TV show on Channel One. This is the first time Yana is participating in the festival in the role of a mentor. She has many years of experience under her belt, something she is eager to pass on to the new generation.

I know firsthand how much a coach means to an athlete! Their support, sincere belief in your success, ability to set you on the right track - these are the things that can provide a great start for the budding skaters. And on top of that, of course, you need to be taught proper technique, something we painstakingly perfect on the ice rink, Yana Khokhlova commented.

Winter Fest is an opportunity for all the attendees to have fun, acquire necessary athletic skills and take home great memories! Participants will be able to talk to the athletes face-to-face, take selfies or have professional photos taken with them and get athletes' autographs. At the end of the festival all attendees will receive personalized certificates and photos. The event’s motto is "More movement means more victories".

One of the Formula for Good Deeds' popular focus areas is providing support for grassroots sports in the regions where our company is present. Thanks to projects such as Winter Fest, we have an opportunity to promote a healthy lifestyle among younger people and motivate budding athletes to work toward new achievements and victories. At the same time, the kids themselves will be able not only to embrace the sports culture but also to meet world-class stars. I wish the best of success to every participant! Elena Belskaya, head of ZapSibNeftekhim's Department of Governmental Relations and Social and Economic Projects, noted.

Keep in mind that admission to the event will only be provided to bearers of a valid QR code (for persons over 18 years). Please be sure to wear a mask.
