SIBUR volunteers improve the grounds of the "Khutorok" visitor centre at the "Sibirskiye Uvaly" nature park

On 1 August, a volunteer campaign to improve the grounds of the "Khutorok" visitor centre at the "Sibirskiye Uvaly" nature park took place in Nizhnevartovsk District. Volunteers from SiburTyumenGaz, Zapsibtransgaz and local residents took part. The event was organised as part of the "Living Symbols of SIBUR" project under the company's "Formula for Good Deeds" social investment programme.

The "Khutorok" visitor centre serves as an important environmental education hub, where traditions of caring for nature are preserved and passed on, and where local residents and visitors to the region can learn about the local ecosystem. Such volunteer campaigns help maintain the centre's infrastructure, ensure the sustainable functioning of natural ecosystems and foster environmentally responsible behaviour among the local population, aimed at preserving unique natural areas.

The main tasks set for the volunteers were to improve the visitor centre grounds and clean up the surrounding areas. Painting work was carried out along the main entrance, on footpaths and lamp posts. The most physically demanding task was sorting construction waste and levelling the ground to create a parking area. Additionally, the area was cleared of small fallen branches, which were processed into firewood and placed in special containers near the campfire zone. All collected waste was sent for recycling and disposal.

At the end of the campaign, the volunteers were invited on a tour of "Khutorok". Participants were able to learn more about the richness and features of the local nature. The event concluded with tea and a discussion of the work done.

SIBUR continues its systematic work in the field of environmental protection, and such initiatives highlight the importance of joint efforts in preserving nature and fostering environmental responsibility in every participant.

My team and I, along with the children, gave nature a 'spring clean': fallen branches in one pile, household waste in bags, aesthetics and order on the grounds. The result was worth it. A pleasant bonus was the tour of the museum and visitor centre. Thank you to SIBUR and the 'Formula for Good Deeds' for organising the event. I believe the campaign brought real benefit to the area and contributed to the formation of environmental culture, the strengthening of team spirit and the involvement of children in socially significant activities."

The "Living Symbols of SIBUR" project is implemented within the "Environmental Protection" area of the "Formula for Good Deeds" programme. SIBUR's "Formula for Good Deeds" social investment programme was launched on 1 February 2016. It covers seven areas of social life: urban development, education and science, sport and healthy lifestyles, ecology, culture, inclusion and volunteering. Projects under the "Formula for Good Deeds" are now implemented in 23 cities: Blagoveshchensk (Amur Region), Voronezh, Gubkinsky, Dzerzhinsk, Kazan, Muravlenko, Nizhnevartovsk, Nizhnekamsk, Noyabrsk, Nyagan, Perm, Pyt-Yakh, Svobodny, Tomsk, Tobolsk, Ufa, Omsk, Balakhna, Tyumen, Krasnoyarsk, Krasnodar, Nizhny Novgorod (Kstovsky District), and Blagoveshchensk (Republic of Bashkortostan).

In 2026, SIBUR celebrates the 10th anniversary of the launch of the "Formula for Good Deeds" social investment programme. Over this time, more than 8,000 events have taken place in the operating cities, with 1.5 million people taking part. Grant support has been received by more than 1,300 initiatives of social institutions and non-profit organisations in the regions, and the total amount of additional funding raised by grant recipients has exceeded 1.5 billion roubles.
