SIBUR's volunteers in Tobolsk shared the warmth of their hearts by putting on a range of creative and developmental activities for children

22 august 2023

As part of the volunteering project Share the Warmth of Your Heart, implemented with the support of SIBUR's Formula for Good Deeds social investment program, employees of ZapSibNeftekhim and Petrochemical Transportation Company spent the whole month of August arranging a series of fun master classes for the wards of the Tobolsk Social Rehabilitation Center.

Among other things, the center hosted an off-site makeup and styling master class for teenage girls given by a professional makeup artist. The class turned out to be equally interesting both for children and adults as its attendees learned how to properly care for their skin, what kind of care cosmetics to use and how to apply it properly. After the event, each young participant was given a coveted gift of a make-up kit.

This was our first experience with conducting a topical workshop for teenage girls and the feedback we got was overwhelmingly positive. The girls were absolutely enthralled. In turn, we are really happy to teach girls the culture of self-care. And it is not just about "beauty", but also about hygiene, Anastasia Prosyanik, the volunteering project's supervisor, and a leading specialist at Petrochemical Transportation Company, noted.

In addition to the masterclasses on beauty, the students go to attend cooking classes taught by the Sweet Lion cooking studio. Under the watchful eye of Eugenia, the studio's pastry chef, the budding cooks learned to make their own dinner for the entire family: they started the dough, prepared minced meat for the filling, and skillfully molded the dumplings. The most awaited part of the evening came in the form of tasting of their own culinary creations. Everyone felt sated and contented.

In addition to the educational master classes, the project's organizers tried to include in their program a "day of recreation" and so, on Saturday, August 19, the center's wards, including those with special health needs, got to attend a screening of the Miraculous: Tales Of Ladybug & Cat Noir cartoon show at the local Apelsinema theater. The kids got absorbed in watching the show to the only sounds of laughter and crunching popcorn that could be heard in the theater.

We had a lot of fun at the movie theater! We really liked the show, especially its protagonist, Lady Bug, who has superpowers and saves the city from chaos. She is very kind and brave, she fears nothing at all. Thank you very much for such a great weekend, it was awesome! Victoria, a ward of the social rehabilitation center, shared.

Throughout the project’s duration, its volunteers have been able to bring happiness to more than 60 wards of the social rehabilitation center, both small children and teenagers.
