4 july 2022

SIBUR has picked the winners of volunteer projects’ contests held among the company’s employees and students as part of its Formula for Good Deeds social investment program. A total of 42 volunteering projects will be carried out in the second half of 2022 with the use of grant funds.

University students and employees of SIBUR and NIPIGAZ from 24 Russian cities had submitted over 120 applications for consideration by the contest’s evaluation committee that included SIBUR’s experts who are based both in Moscow and out in the regions, as well as heads of regional non-profit organizations, and members of the team of the Formula for Good Deeds program.

A total of 30 projects were chosen as the winners of the 9th Contest of Employees’ Volunteering Projects.
SIBUR’s volunteers are going to put on a number of inclusive events for people with disabilities including a festive party, creativity classes dedicated to various environmental topics, building a sports ground and holding swimming tournaments for beginners and those with basic swimming skills.

In 2 of the participating cities, the company’s employees will be organizing separate waste collection contests, whereas in others they are set on helping World War Two veterans renovate balconies in their apartments, building hiking trails of varying lengths on the grounds of a natural preserve, organizing visit to animal shelters and engaging in other activities seeking to raise environmental awareness and to improve wild nature areas and public spaces alike.

The 4th Contest of Students’ Projects resulted in the decision to support 13 of the submitted projects using the funds of the company and of its Formula for Good Deeds program. These funds will be used to help students teach physics to children with the Down Syndrome using the format of fairy-tale therapy, hold a forum of youths’ eco-initiatives complete with master classes and separate waste collection campaigns, organize quizzes and trivia games for schoolchildren with an emphasis on environmental topics, deliver lectures and master classes in support of separate waste collection, set up separate waste collection areas, hold a festival for EMERCOM volunteers including first-aid training sessions, and other socially relevant initiatives.

The list of winning entrees is available in the attachment to this news release.

On July 12, from 10 am to 11:30 am (Moscow Time), contest winners will be able to take part in a webinar put on for them by the experts of the Formula for Good Deeds program that would present an excellent opportunity to discuss future cooperation, share recommendations on project implementation, and the use of cash grants for project execution in 2022.
