A series of webinars on corporate volunteering starts in Amur Oblast

The Amur Regional Corporate Volunteering Council is launching a series of training webinars on helping families facing difficult circumstances and on assisting the elderly. The webinars are intended for both experienced supervisors of volunteering projects and for up-and-coming volunteers.

The first meeting will be held online via Zoom on Thursday, October 28, from 15:00 to 16:30 Amur Oblast time.

Experts representing well-established charitable foundations will talk about the nuances and possible ways of providing volunteer assistance to families in dire circumstances and to the elderly, and how to choose an institution or foundation for volunteering and to start providing help. There will be a follow-up discussion at the end to go over any questions that may arise out of the presentation.

The list of invited speakers includes:

• Anastasia Gelasimova, coordinator of the "Helping Families in Difficult Situations" project, Volunteers for Orphans Foundation;
• Tatyana Nikolayeva, Head of Volunteering Development Department, "The Joy of Old Age" Charity Foundation.

Attendees of all webinars will be issued electronic certificates of successful completion of the training.

Background:

Amur Regional Corporate Volunteering Council was established in 2021 with the participation of SIBUR and Amur Oblast’s Government to coordinate the efforts of companies, volunteering centers and non-profit organization in promoting best volunteering practices in the region. The key focus areas of the assistance provided include support and assistance to families in distress and to the elderly.

The geography of the regional chapter includes representatives of companies and volunteering centers from Blagoveshchensk, Belogorsk, Svobodny, Tsiolkovsky, and other districts of Amur Oblasts including SIBUR, Otkritiye Bank, Bureyskaya HPP (RusHydro), Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk, MTS, Rostelecom, Belogorsk Locomotive Depot (Russian Railways), CENKI (Roscosmos), as well experts from volunteering and resource centers, and charitable foundations.
