The Formula for Good Deeds received the Golden Pelican Award

8 december 2022

On December 7, St. Petersburg became the venue for the 25th Golden Pelican Awards ceremony. The Formula for Good Deeds, SIBUR's social investment program, won the top award "For Reviving the Tradition of Philanthropy and Patronage of Arts". The Formula for Good Deeds was nominated for the award following its implementation of the March 8 charitable campaign intended to support mothers whose children are undergoing long-term medical treatment.

We are so happy that the initiative we've been carrying out for quite a number of years has become one of the winners of the Golden Pelican Award. In 2020, we decided for the first time to ditch the tradition of giving out corporate presents in favor of charity. Together with our partner non-profits, we came up with a project to support mothers whose children are undergoing long-term medical treatment. In advance of the March 8 holiday, we offered them our care and attention, arranging for them a carefree day devoid of their everyday worries. Over this initiative’s three years of existence, more than 4,500 women from 24 cities have become the beneficiaries of this charity campaign, and we know for a fact that this is just the beginning, Elena Snezhko, head of the Formula for Good Deeds, SIBUR's social investment program, commented.

Together with SIBUR and its Formula for Good Deeds, we turned a new page in the history of our charitable movement during a trying period of the pandemic. While we had been helping children with special needs, we had never helped their parents before. It was thanks to the March 8 campaign that we came to the realization that parents, especially mothers, desperately need our help. And we have since moved on from celebrating just the March 8 holiday to doing the same on the Mother's Day as well. And that is why SIBUR's social investment program became a rightful winner of this popular award today, Elena Mikhailova, director of Golden Pelican – Northwest, a St. Petersburg-based regional charitable non-profit and a partner of the March 8 charitable campaign, noted.
