SIBUR volunteers spent World Animal Day taking care of the inhabitants of the Nekrasovka animal shelter in Moscow. The visit was paid as part of the company-wide Big Help for Little Friends campaign, implemented with the support of SIBUR’s Formula for Good Deeds social investment program.

Twenty volunteers from five different SIBUR organizations, including SIBUR LLC, the VDNKh Project Office, SIBUR DIGITAL, New Resources, and SIBUR CONNECT, took the trip to deliver donations they had collected and to spend time with the animals. The party included both veteran volunteers who regularly go on such visits and a few newcomers who are only trying their hand at it.

The volunteers had collected an impressive array of various supplies including dry and wet pet food, buckwheat, vital medicines, bedding for the in-patient ward, dog beds for dogs in foster care, and various trappings. Some items had been provided ahead of the visit by their colleagues via the Help Dogs and Cats collection boxes, while the rest were brought along on the very day of the trip.

A significant portion of the donations came from the business unit led by Mrs. Medvedeva (Business Processes, Shared Services & Corporate Governance). A sizeable quantity of food and supplies was also donated by employees of the Petrochemical Transportation Company.

During their visit to the shelter, the volunteers assisted at three different areas of the facility and walked more than 50 dogs, giving them attention, care, and the much-needed interaction with people.

Maria Tkach, Lead Specialist, SIBUR LLC:
“When I saw the announcement about the upcoming visit, I chose not to sit it out and instead spend my Saturday with the animals at the shelter. Looking into their eyes, one cannot but start believing in kindness again. I don’t have much experience with dogs, but despite their rough past, they still trust people. And this fills us with nothing but good feelings. It’s important to remember that even if one has a hectic work schedule, finding the time to do good is not that hard at all.”
