<span style="color: windowtext;">September 6 saw a volunteering event take place at the Kerzhensky Nature Reserve as part of the <i>Living Symbols of SIBUR</i> project. The event that was held as part of the company’s <i>Formula for Good Deeds </i>social investment program was joined by staff from Kstovo and Nizhny Novgorod, who brought along members of their families. They all lent their hand to improving specially protected nature areas of national stature.</span>

<span style="color: windowtext;">The volunteers split up into two teams. One was charged with the task of leveling the ground which involved carrying and spreading sand to prepare the area, while the other was busy taking care of the breeding enclosure, which marks the first time when volunteers got involved in doing work in that area of the reserve. Their job was to spread out reindeer lichen - the primary source of food for the northern forest reindeer. Evenly distributed over the nursery’s grounds, the reindeer lichen would have a chance to take root and grow, creating a natural nutrition base for local animals.</span>

In June 2024, SIBUR signed a cooperation agreement with the Kerzhensky Nature Reserve, which marks an important step in advancing the biodiversity conservation program implemented in the regions where the company has a presence. The project to restore the reindeer population is one of the flagship projects on SIBUR's environmental conservation agenda.</span>
