2024 saw successful completion of a grant-funded volunteering project called “Helping Wagging Tails - 2” that is being implemented with the support of SIBUR's Formula for Good Deeds social investment program for the second year in a row.

As part of the project, Kazanorgsintez volunteers initiated construction of new kennels and individual dog houses on the grounds of the Cat and Dog shelter. This initiative helped make living conditions for the shelter's more than 650 stray animals more comfortable. In the course of the year, the shelter received over 1.5 tons of food, scratching pads, medicines, cat litter, and toys.

Improvement of the shelter's grounds became an important component of the project. The volunteers took an active part in clearing the shelter's territory from snow resulting from this winter’s anomalous snowfalls and in general cleanups during Saturdays’ subbotniks.

Throughout the year, 40 volunteers and members of their families have taken part in the project. Their efforts have thus made a substantial contribution to protecting and taking care of Kazan's stray animals.

Anastasia Sazonova, a volunteer:
“I visited the Cat and Dog shelter today and I am overflowing with emotions! Since my very first visit there, the conditions the animals are kept in have gotten so much better! I was able to spend some time with the animals, with them being so friendly and playful! It's also great to see that many of the animals at the shelter have found new homes for themselves since my first coming there. The shelter is really supporting an important cause and I am proud to have been able to support their initiatives. I will definitely come back to help the shelter and to interact with my new-found furry friends again!”
