Voronezh made a launch of You can do anything!, SIBUR's inclusivity project

18 april 2022

On April 16, Voronezh hosted the first motivational meeting for inclusive communities as part of the interregional You Can Do Anything! project implemented within the framework of the Formula for Good Deeds, SIBUR’s social investment program. The meeting was organized with the support of the Voronezh regional organization of the All-Russian Society of People with Disabilities. The event was attended by more than 50 Voronezh residents.

We regard the event in Voronezh as the starting point in our work on the new Inclusivity focus area of the Formula for Good Deeds social investment program implemented as part of SIBUR's Sustainable Development Strategy. After speaking with the meeting’s participants, we can say with confidence that such face-to-face motivational meetings are very much needed and important. We hope that in the future Voronezh’s residents will be actively joining the unified inclusive community of the City of Opportunities blog to talk to and share best practices with the community’s subscribers from other cities where the company has operations, Elena Snezhko, Chief Expert and Head of the Formula for Good Deeds social investment program, commented.

In the course of the meeting’s first part, Alexei Talai, Master of Sports (swimming), multiple world and European record holder, a member of the National Paralympic team of the Republic of Belarus, an entrepreneur and a public figure, shared the secrets of his personal success with the participants. The meeting was moderated by Mikhail Chetvertakov, a partner of the You can do anything! project, the head of ParaPlan, an NGO of disabled wheelchair users (Dzerzhinsk, Nizhegorodskaya Oblast).

The second part of the meeting was devoted to the topic of how disability is represented on social networks. Aleksey Trantsev, Olga Lifanova and Daria Suloyeva, the team of moderators of the City of Opportunities blog, discussed the fundamental rules of successful work on social networks with concrete examples, and presented their new inclusive blog that they started on April 10.

This motivational meeting was truly inspirational. During the meeting, I just sat there and mentally went through all the projects that I had had as ideas in my head hoping that someday I would start working on them. By the end of the meeting, I realized that I could not afford putting things off any longer, as I had received a strong impetus to proceed to real action. I was very impressed by the professionalism and magnetism of all the speakers and their desire to make our world a better place, Ekaterina Kachalina, a member of the 1+1 inclusive community in Voronezh, shared her impressions.

It was very important for me to hear the speakers' testimonies about their approach to overcoming hardships. I especially took note of the idea that there are always people out there who have it much harder, and so you should stop feeling sorry for yourself. Our organization has a community on VKontakte, so the second part of the event about positioning oneself on social networks was particularly relevant. We will look forward to the launch of the training course that will be offered on the City of Opportunities blog, Anna Zager, social projects manager of the Blagoye Delo charitable foundation, commented.

In 2022, motivational meetings for inclusive communities conducted as part of the You can do anything! project will be held in three more cities where SIBUR conducts its operations: in Nizhnevartovsk, Tobolsk, and Dzerzhinsk.
