A show of stray animals has been held at a pet boarding center of the Right to Life non-profit

2 october 2023

Lyolya and Felix will from now on be living at a home! These two lucky dogs have found their new owners at the I Want a Home! show held last Sunday, October 1, as part of the Furry Home project supported by SIBUR as part of the company's Formula for Good Deeds social investment program.

Some 150 dogs including a German Shepherd, a Husky, a Moscow Watchdog, a Pinscher, a Spaniel and, of course, just plain mutts had been waiting for their new and loving owners to turn out. All of them are residents of a shelter run by the Right to Life center for homeless animals.

At some point all these animals were abandoned by their negligent owners. But all our dogs can still become good friends to their new owners. They have been socialized, immunized, and spayed. The choice is vast: small and big, active and quiet. But, most importantly, despite whatever fate that has befallen them, they are still faithful and devoted, grateful for a chance to a new life! Elena Rasputina, head of the Right to Life NPO, explained.

The I Want a Home show is by no means the only activity supported by SIBUR that seeks to draw the attention of local residents to the problem of stray animals. In the past, Tobolsk's educational institutions have given “lessons of kindness” focusing on humane treatment of animals, along with a contest for the most imaginative and comfortable designs of dog kennels. Seven teams made up of representatives of schools, kindergartens, a multidisciplinary vocational college, a theater, and members of the business community have contributed to building unorthodox homes for the animals.

Lyubov Plyusnina, a contest participant, representative of MebelAster, a maker of bespoke furniture: We were delighted to become involved in such a creative and generous project. It is a fantastic feeling when you are able to help someone homeless find a new home! This was an interesting and an unusual endeavor. A new experience for each of us! May this place stay as beautiful as it is and draw as much attention as possible!

An open city-wide vote resulted in the victory being awarded to the team of Tobolsk's School No. 5. While all contestants were commended for their participation and compassion, the winners were rewarded with certificates for a trip to Alemasovo.

Darya Cherepanova, an expert with ZapSibNeftekhim LLC's Department of Government Relations and Socio-Economic Projects: Projects such as this are an opportunity not only to show one's creativity, but also to do good. The animals are well fed, healthy and can live in renovated kennels and doghouses. This is the most important outcome of all our efforts, our shared triumph!
