Tomsk to host a competitive birding tournament for schoolchildren

Birding is a great opportunity for photography buffs to demonstrate their passion for sports and exhibit their proficiency in birdwatching. The tournament will be held as part of the Land of the Lapwing project implemented as part of SIBUR's Formula for Good Deeds social investment program in cooperation with Birds and People, a non-profit partnership. </p> <p> Participating teams of young naturalists will be required to not only spot as many birds as possible and take their photos, but to also correctly identify the species they belong to and complete a special checklist. The winners will be selected by an expert jury consisting of expert ornithologists.
