As part of SIBUR’s School Rugby League project , the multipurpose sports hall of the Tomsk Palace of Sports and Entertainment hosted, on April 25, 2025 a tournament of local schools’ tag rugby teams. The teams’ players have shown a marked improvement in their level of skill and tactical prowess compared to the season before.<br>

The 32 young athletes taking part in the tournament had been coached by their PE teachers who last year took a course on the basics of tag rugby as part of the SIBUR’s Rugby School League project. The winning team will be representing Tomsk Oblast at the national Rugby School League Finals to be held in Zelenograd on June 12–13.<br>

The project is being supported by SIBUR's <i>Formula for Good Deeds</i> social investment program and the Methodological Center for the Development of Children’s and Youth Rugby.<br>

SIBUR’s Rugby School League not only promotes the sport of tag rugby, but also helps with the comprehensive development of school students through cultivation of team spirit, discipline and healthy habits. By taking part in athletic competitions the children become motivated to lead an active lifestyle while presenting them with new exciting opportunities for growth on the national scale.<br>
