From 1 August to 15 November, the third season of the Eco-Marathon "Sportivny" will take place in Tobolsk – an environmental project for young athletes, implemented with the support of SIBUR together with the Tyumen Environmental Association and the "EcoTobolsk" environmental education project.

In the new season, young athletes aged 12–13 will take part in the project, representing teams from sports schools in the following disciplines: basketball, football, volleyball, hand-to-hand combat, chess, hockey, judo and artistic gymnastics.

Over three months, participants will complete several environmental stages: hand in recyclable materials at the "Mendeleev" eco-house in Tobolsk, take part in eco-lessons, create useful items from recycled materials and test their knowledge in a team eco-quiz.

Over two years, the project has brought together hundreds of pupils from sports organisations in Tobolsk and collected more than 5 tonnes of recyclable materials. Today, the Eco-Marathon is not only an environmental initiative but also part of a systematic effort to build a culture of responsible consumption and care for the environment among the younger generation.

This year, the project has been included in the city competition "Sports Elite". Based on the results of the Eco-Marathon, a special nomination will be awarded for the "Most Eco-Friendly Sports Team" that has shown the most active participation in environmental initiatives.
