SIBUR's Make'em Warm Campaign Comes to an End, Delivering Over a Ton of Warm Items of Clothing for People in Need

SIBUR’s annual company-wide Make'em Warm campaign has drawn to a close. The campaign has been enjoying support from the Formula for Good Deeds social investment program. This year's initiative rallied around a common cause 14 cities and 22 facilities, including the company’s corporate center and manufacturing sites across all of Russia.

The volunteers managed to collect 493 bags of items weighing a total of 1,082 kilograms, with more than 220 employees taking part. All donated item were handed over to regional charitable foundations and organizations specializing in supporting disadvantaged families, single parents, children, older people, and other vulnerable groups.

It's when hundreds of employees from across the country come together for the sake of one shared goal of helping those who need our support. We see that corporate volunteering really changes peoples’ lives. Many thanks to all who responded to our call. You made sure that warmth and compassion reached those who needed it.”

The campaign drew participation from SIBUR’s employees working at sites located in Voronezh, Kazan, Krasnoyarsk, Moscow, Nizhnekamsk, Omsk, Perm, Pyt-Yakh, Svobodny, Surgut, Tver, Tobolsk, Tomsk, and Ust-Luga.

Krasnoyarsk Synthetic Rubber Plant’s staff collected more than 50 bags of warm clothing and footwear. For the second year running, all these items were delivered to the Prosto Dobro charity foundation that helps large and low-income families, single mothers, children in hospitals, and senior citizens.

Employees of the Yuzhno-Balyksky Gas Processing Plant in Pyt-Yakh collected some 20 large bags of items which included warm clothes for children and adults, shoes, and toys, weighing about 50 kilograms overall. Everything was handed over to the Podari Mechtu charity that specializes in supporting large and low-income families, single retirees, and people in dire straits.

Volunteers from Zapsibtransgaz in Surgut, alongside their colleagues from the Surgut Emergency Recovery Train, the Motor Transport Division, and the Non-Destructive Control Laboratory, supported collection of warm items for the Traektoriya Nadezhdy foundation which assists people facing hardship.

“Year after year, as I sorted through my wardrobe, I used to lament the sheer amount of good-condition items that had just been sitting there for years, unused. It all changed with the advent of the Make'em Warm campaign, which my husband and I have been an eager part of since last year. We let go of our old wardrobe items without regrets, hoping that our things will give warmth and joy to the people who really need them.”

“It's moving to see how our colleagues go about collecting clothes, warm items, toys. Everything is lovingly packed. One can feel that help is coming straight from another person’s heart. May your kindness be returned to you a hundred-fold.”

“The Make'em Warm campaign is like a bridge connecting hearts. When you give things away, you get back this feeling of inner warmth and a sense of being a part of something important. Give your love to others!”

Daria Khuzina, Head of the Semya Autonomous Non-Profit Organization, a mother of eight:
“We are so grateful to SIBUR's employees. Every item that's been donated will definitely find an owner. Prior to handing anything over, we carefully check everything and put things in order. This kind of help really does support families in distress.”

“The donated items will be a real lifeline this winter. Thanks to your kindness and compassion, children and families will feel their community's support. You've made this world a little warmer.”

Each year, the Make'em Warm campaign helps SIBUR employees take a fresh look at things that have been sitting in their closets for a long time and choose to give them a second lease on life. Clean and weather-appropriate clothing becomes a lifeline for those facing adversity in their lives. Through their involvement, warmth from 21 cities of SIBUR’s presence has touched the lives of children, families, and adults facing adversity. By working together, SIBUR’s volunteers have made winters warmer: both for those who helped and for those who were helped.
