During the sessions, the children learn to act in emergency situations, recognise fraudulent schemes, use the internet safely, manage their personal finances wisely and make confident decisions in everyday life situations. </p> <p> The programme is built on practical sessions and real-life scenario modelling. This format helps teenagers gain new knowledge and immediately practise skills that will certainly be useful in their daily lives after leaving the boarding school. </p> <p> One of the stages of the "Home Alone" project was a meeting with representatives of the State Fire Supervision Department for Nizhnevartovsk District of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations for KhMAO-Yugra. The children learned about the work of rescuers, studied the algorithm of actions in emergency situations and learned how to prevent dangerous situations at home. The financial literacy session was equally engaging. During it, teenagers learned to plan their expenses, assessed the consequences of impulsive purchases and were introduced to the principles of personal budgeting. </p> <p> Special attention was paid to information security and protection against financial fraud – topics that are particularly relevant today. Experts told the schoolchildren about the rules of behaviour in the digital environment, ways to protect personal data and the risks that may be hidden behind familiar messages, links and offers online.
