The tour of the Moscow Art Theater School in Dzerzhinsk took place

On April 26 and 27, thanks to the support of SIBUR’s Formula for Good Deeds social investment program, the city of Dzerzhinsk became a venue for a theatrical tour by the Moscow Art Theater’s School and Studio.

Yuri Kislinsky, Director of the Dzerzhinsk Drama Theater:
"This is the first time we have become exposed to such a format of cooperation with a higher-learning institution. Dzerzhinsk’s spectators had not yet seen projects of this kind. In just a few days, we managed to sell more than 80% of all tickets for the shows on June 26 and 27, and that was a whole week in advance! I am confident that we will have a full house on both nights. We look forward to seeing everyone!"

The tour’s busy program included two graduation performances by fourth-year Acting Department students, acting and stage speech master classes, auditions for potential enrollees to Moscow Art Theater’s School and Studio’s Acting Department, as well as a career guidance session and a colloquium put on by the Production Department for young theater managers.

Igor Zolotovitsky, Rector of the Moscow Art Theater’s School and Studio:
"The competition to enroll in the School and Studio is fierce with 4,000 to 6,000 potential enrollees vying for the coveted spots at our school! Thanks to SIBUR, we have been holding auditions for applicants coming from the country’s more remote regions. In Tomsk, for one, we saw some really gifted contenders. One particular red-haired girl from Kurgan comes to mind. Although it looked like she didn't even fully understand where she was, we immediately saw that we had to admit her! This year, you can also meet with faculty from our Production Department. In today’s world, you can’t imagine a successful theater without competent management, and I am proud that our students are at the right level. This is all thanks to the Formula for Good Deeds!

Some of Dzerzhinsk’s residents took their chances in completing first-round auditions to potentially enroll in the renowned drama school. 19 candidates took part in the auditions organized by the Acting Department, with 4 advancing to subsequent rounds.

a stage speech master class by Sergey Sotnikov, a professor of the Sub-department of Stage Speech and Vocals: 29 attendees;

Production Department’s career guidance lecture: 25 attendees.

Dmitry Shadymov, Head of Corporate Communications at SIBUR-Kstovo and Sibur-Neftekhim:
"Our project is not limited just to touring shows. The Formula for Good Deeds supports culture in the regions, from helping puppet theaters to cooperating with Moscow’s major theaters. Culture is one of our program’s seven priority areas, and we intend to develop it on a par with the others."

Some 1,370 people attended graduation performances of The Lyceum and The City Where We Are put on stage at Dzerzhinsk’s Drama Theater by the students of the 4^th year of the Moscow Art Theater’s School and Studio (Evgeny Pisarev’s class), with 170 of the viewers taking an active part in post-show discussions and sharing their feedback with the performers.

This Moscow Art Theater’s School and Studio and SIBUR collaboration seeks to help advance regional culture by means of contemporary theater and educational programs, by interacting with local drama groups and by providing support to local talented youths in Tobolsk, Nizhnevartovsk, Tomsk and Dzerzhinsk.
