The project drew the attention and subsequent involvement of the leadership and faculty of Tomsk State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering. In the autumn of 2024, the university’s students submitted 13 design proposals for transforming the public space. A decision was made to submit an application for participation in the <em>Creating a Comfortable Urban Environment</em> program<em>.</em> </p> <p> Thanks to the coordinated work of volunteers, efforts of the Kirov District’s administration, and the support of Tomsk’s Department of Urban Improvement and Road Affairs, the site at 1 Komsomolskaya Street in Timiryazevskoye was included in the roster of areas scheduled to be voted on for getting included in the CCUE program in April 2025. </p> <p> The initiative clearly resonated well with Timiryazevskoye’s residents including local schoolchildren, students, SIBUR volunteers, non-profit organizations, and residents of nearby neighborhoods who took an active part in the voting. Thanks to the community’s concerted efforts and high level of engagement by its members, the site quickly got to the top of the roster.
