A modern sportsground has been commissioned at Tobolsk’s Kindergarten No. 7 as part of the Health Zone project that had emerged as the winner of a grant contest held under SIBUR’s Formula for Good Deeds social investment program.

The 120-square-meters playground features a safe, state-of-the art heavy-use flooring, a station for GTO testing, and a gazebo. Over 70 pieces of workout equipment have also been procured. As a result, the kindergarten’s students can now play football and basketball, take part in various outdoor games and activities, and participate in sports-themed celebrations.

Yulia Shanaurova, Director of the Education Department:
“Today’s sportsgrounds are more than just a place for playing games. Rather, they are spaces where healthy, active, and tight-knit generations are forged. We are really thankful to SIBUR for the attention they are paying to enhancing our city’s educational scene and for helping convert good ideas into true improvements for the benefit of our youngest residents.”

Previously, the kindergarten had lacked any outdoor sports infrastructure. But now it has been transformed into a modern and functional space that will become a magnet for children, their parents, and teachers.

Ekaterina Popova, a student at Kindergarten No. 7:
“This place is so great! I can run here, spend time with my friends, and play ball. I want to come here every day and exercise.”

SIBUR has been supporting the kindergarten since 2016, contributing to upgrading its infrastructure. The company had previously supported efforts to upgrade two swimming pools here offering local students an opportunity to improve their health all year round. In addition, it had helped set up a weather station which is now being used as part of the environmental education program for kindergarten students.

Elena Belskaya, Director for Government Relations and Socio-Economic Projects at ZapSibNeftekhim:
“Projects such as these go well beyond promoting the basics such as improving health, supporting children’s sports, and facilitating character development. They also play an important role in creating a comfortable urban environment. State-of-the-art synthetic materials used in these spaces make them both visually attractive and really safe. Most importantly, initiatives like this make Tobolsk a city where the up-and-coming generation can grow up active, confident, and ready to make a difference.”
