<span style="color: windowtext;">Nizhnevartovsk hosted the official launch of the 8th International <i>Northern Encounters </i>Theater Festival of Small-Form Productions. This celebration of art is taking place with the support of SIBUR's <i>Formula for Good Deeds</i> social investment program. The city’s Drama Theatre became the festival’s principal venue, serving as a four-day cultural hub for theater enthusiasts from across Russia and abroad.</span>

<span style="color: windowtext;">From October 30 to November 2, audiences will be able to see 12 productions from St. Petersburg, Kazan, Kemerovo, Verkhnyaya Pyshma, Mogilev (Belarus), Yerevan (Armenia), and, of course, Nizhnevartovsk itself.</span>

<span style="color: windowtext;">Launched in 2005, the <i>Northern Encounters</i>
fest has, over a period of two decades, grown into a notable cultural event of the national-level stature. It is not a competition but rather a source of inspiration. Each participant ends up getting a diploma in their own unique category determined by an council of experts made up of renowned theater scholars and critics.</span>
