Marina Yakovleva: "I hadn't expected to see so many animals in the shelter”.

30 november 2022

Last weekend saw volunteers pay yet another visit to the Nekrasovka shelter for homeless animals located in the vicinity of Moscow. The call for help for our furry friends was promptly answered by our colleagues from the Corporate Center, SIBUR Digital, Sibur-Khimprom and NIPIGAZ, as well as by their relatives and friends.

Some chose to help by donating the dog food that the shelter always needs. Others simply sent money to help fund buying any necessary items or treats. Some of those who had been helping the animals for some time went all in and became guardians for the dogs that are in need of special care or costly veterinary treatment. And then even more help came from a place we hadn't even expected to hear from: someone from as far as Perm wrote to us offering their help!

Plus, there were those who had agreed to help with delivering all the collected items to the shelter’s site and help out at the shelter. On Saturday, SIBUR volunteers accomplished quite a lot there including taking the dogs for a walk in a local grove, playing with puppies, feeding everyone with buckwheat and the canned food they had brought with them - a real treat for the dogs! They also took good-quality pictures of the animals to help them find a new home and helped insulate dog enclosures using banners that had been kindly provided for this good cause by the colleagues with whom SIBUR had earlier worked to organize the Moscow Marathon.

To be honest with you, I hadn't expected to see so many animals at the shelter! As we were walking towards the enclosures, I saw some volunteers taking the dogs out for a walk. Those dogs looked so happy while the ones whose turn hadn’t yet come were barking at them with envy. In the two hours I spent there, I managed to walk only three dogs: Cooper, Yasha and another puppy who hadn’t been given a name yet. It takes quite an effort to catch the dog, put on a harness and attach a leash, and so time goes by quickly. You cannot take them all out on a walk, despite your best wishes. But in the end, we all had a great weekend anyway! Marina Yakovleva, analyst and volunteer at SIBUR Digital, commented.

I am very grateful to those who organized this outing for the opportunity to participate in helping our furry friends not only financially, but also by getting involved personally. That was my first visit to an animal shelter, and it was a revelation to me that you can't just go to a shelter, you have to have a volunteer present. Of course, a shelter is a shelter, but it was nevertheless very nice to see so many caring people ready to help improve the lives of homeless dogs, to care for them and to find them a new owner" Tatiana Dygan, a business partner and a SIBUR LLC volunteer, commented.

On behalf of the Formula for Good Deeds program we wish to thank everyone who responded to the call and made their personal contribution to our common good cause of helping homeless animals at the Nekrasovka shelter! THANK YOU to everyone who became involved: Kira Antonova, Maria Boytsova, Natalia Vasilchenko, Svetlana Danilova, Tatiana Dygan, Tatiana Zlydareva, Nikita Kornilov, Nikita Kuznetsov, Elena Kuzmina, Vera Lashtaba, Yury Markov, Marina Medvedeva, Narine Pogosyan, Valeria Remizova, Nikolai Rodionov, Anna Romanovskaya, Svetlana Safonkina, Oksana Stebalina, Olga Khristoforova, Arina Chistyakova, Zinaida Sh., and Marina Yakovleva!
