Corporate Volunteers in Yugra Hold Stained-Glass Mosaic Master Class for People with Disabilities

Volunteers from the regional branch of the NCVC (National Corporate Volunteering Council) in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug–Yugra extended their holiday greetings to 20 young adults with disabilities and members of staff of the regional public organization Inclusive Scarlet Sails Center. Ahead of International Day of Persons with Disabilities, they gave a stained-glass mosaic master class. This initiative was supported by SIBUR's Formula for Good Deeds social investment program.

Corporate volunteers from Kogalym, Nizhnevartovsk, Pyt-Yakh, and Surgut—all members of the NCVC's regional branch in Yugra—took part in organizing and running the pre-holiday campaign. These included Zapsibtransgas, Sberbank's Yugra Branch, SiburTyumenGaz, Surgutneftegasbank, Ushinsky School No. 44., and the Oil Institute of Yugra State University.

Elena Snezhko, Head of SIBUR's Formula for Good Deeds social investment program and Chair of the NCVC's regional branches in Amur Oblast and KhMAO–Yugra:
"This volunteering initiative has showed that creativity knows no boundaries. Together with the participants of the Scarlet Sails inclusive center, we created bold panels that will serve as decorations during our holidays and a repository of our shared joy. Every piece of the mosaic that we have put together is a tiny part of the history that we all created together today. Many thanks to all the participants and volunteers for their creativity, warmth, and for setting such a wonderful festive mood!"

Guided by experienced corporate volunteers, the event’s participants immersed themselves in a world of creativity and inspiration. They made a decorative Fish panel and New Year's tree ornaments using stained-glass mosaic techniques, an activity that helps develop fine motor skills. As a result of handling nice-to-the-touch materials, and thanks to the friendly atmosphere at the class the young participants were able to take a break from their daily cares and routines. Everyone had a chance to bring their ideas to life, helping make each piece they produced unique. At the end of the class, the volunteers congratulated everyone on the occasion of the upcoming holidays.

Ekaterina Monastyrskaya, Director of the Inclusive Scarlet Sails Center:
"The interaction with the NCVC volunteers in Yugra provided our students with so many positive emotions! There was a lot of smiling, informal mingling, creativity, mutual assistance, and cheerfulness: all of this banded everyone together to form one cohesive team! The participants displayed enthusiasm and great interest in what they were doing, and, as a result of working together with the volunteers, they ended up creating beautiful fish-like ornaments for the New Year tree! This gathering was truly warm, sincere, and memorable! I would like to thank heartily all the organizers and volunteers for their kind hearts and caring attitude toward “special kids”, for helping us grow and for extending a hand of friendship, charity, and care! We wish the cohesive NCVC team a lot of success in fulfilling all of their plans and the best of Siberian health!"

The regional branch of the National Corporate Volunteering Council in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug–Yugra was established in December 2024 with the participation of SIBUR and the Yugra’s Center for Civil and Social Initiatives Foundation. Its objective is to coordinate the efforts of large, medium, and small enterprises, non-profits, volunteer centers, and other stakeholders in pursuing socially impactful initiatives in the region. It focuses on organizing and carrying out volunteering campaigns in support of vulnerable social groups, including people with disabilities and health limitations.

Sergei, 39, a participant:
"I really enjoyed taking part in the master class! I learned how to make a fish using pieces of stained-glass mosaics. All the volunteers I met were kind and caring! I also managed to make a second craft, a little horse, and presented it to one of the volunteers. It was great to see Grandfather Frost and the Snow Maiden. Thank you so much for such a great day and for the presents!"

Elena Ivanyuk, a technician at the Yuzhno-Balyksky Line Production Department of Zapsibtransgas, a volunteer:
"Thank you so much for the chance to take part in this campaign, for the great opportunity to learn how to interact with people who radiate warmth, kindness, and positivity. And to observe them create beauty and rejoice in each of our achievements. This is another proof of how little one needs to feel happy. Seeing so many happy and cheerful faces was a true gift to all of us".
