Siberian Seasons in Tobolsk, a project implemented by SIBUR, kicked off with shows that had been completely sold-out.

After starting off back in 2023, the unique cultural project Siberian Seasons in Tobolsk
quickly gained popularity among Tobolsk's residents and inhabitants of neighboring municipalities. This was further confirmed by the fact that tickets for the first performances of the 2025 season had been sold out long before the show's scheduled date.

For two days the Tobolsk Drama Theater talked about and performed Chekhov. This is especially meaningful in the year marking the writer’s and playwright's 165th anniversary. Chekhov's relevance and popularity, however, are not diminishing with time. The repertoire of the Andrei Mironov Theater features three productions that based on Chekhov's writings, of which two - “Uncle Vanya” and “Ward No. 6” - were presented to Tobolsk’s audiences.

Vlad Furman, Artistic Director of the Andrei Mironov Theater:
Especially since Tobolsk is a place that has been known to attract free-thinking intellectuals. It was intriguing to see how we were going to be seen by the local audience".

In St. Petersburg, the theater's production of Ward No. 6 has been consistently sold-out for the past fourteen years. Director Vlad Furman has succeeded in turning Chekhov's dark but profound narration into a dynamic show. The director's findings, staging tricks, and sets including cage-shaped beds hanging from the ceiling complement and emphasize the storyline of the piece, thus enhancing the drama.

Uncle Vanya was added to Tobolsk's repertoire last September, whereas Alexei Morozov's directorial debut took place in 2023. The spectators got a chance to compare the two productions, as well as to interact with both directors in the format of a creative battle.
