This is the place where the history of Tobolsk and that of the whole country comes alive, alongside the individual stories of the gymnasium itself and the people who built it up.

In an effort to nurture love for one's homeland, the museum's masterminds blended historical artifacts with state-of-the-art interactive technologies. The exhibition features displays about the city's history and the road to establishing gymnasium-quality education; interactive "live" stands detailing key stages and battles of the Great Patriotic War; as well as a mobile exhibit titled Heroes of Our Time, dedicated to the gymnasium’s alumni taking part in the Special Military Operation.

The exhibits were put together by the school’s teachers, students, and their parents. They feature family memorabilia, archival photos and documents, everyday items, vintage school supplies, memorabilia of young pioneers movement, and artifacts from the gymnasium’s everyday life.

This is where one can sit at a Soviet-era school desk or at the desk of none other than Nikolai Litsman, the gymnasium's first director! One can also picture himself or herself among the participants of the Defense of Stalingrad by examining the details of that battle’s diorama, or as a member of a search party, by holding a Soviet army helmet, a serviceman’s spoon, or a military ID medallion recovered from the Death Valley in Novgorod Oblast.

Alexey Vakulik, Chief Specialist for Government Relations and Socio-Economic Projects at ZapSibNeftekhim:
"The establishment of this unique museum space isn't simply an educational project: it's a critical step towards preserving our historical memory and safekeeping our region’s cultural heritage. I am convinced that it is through initiatives such as these that the city's young residents can better appreciate their own history, take pride in the achievements of their fellow countrymen, and recognize the significance of each generation's contribution to the prosperity of their homeland."

In addition, the Your Home Community – A Great History project involves extensive research and investigative efforts by school students and their families. By studying letters from their grandfathers and great-grandfathers from the front lines, by looking at photographs from those times, and by listening to their relatives' recollections, the children were able to get immersed in that historical era and in the events of the Great Patriotic War. These efforts led to the publication of a collection titled The Deeds of Our Forefathers: A Heirloom for Their Great-Grandchildren.

Marina Medvedeva, Head of the Gymnasium's Library and Information Center:
"We do believe that by knowing and respecting the past of our home communities, we are capable of building a better future. This museum is our shared contribution to preserving historical memory and giving proper upbringing to the young ones so they grow into true patriots of their country."
