Over 1,700 SIBUR Employees Helped Children Prepare for School Ahead of the New School Year

SIBUR successfully completed its annual company-wide Back to School campaign, which, in keeping with an established tradition, has been taking place in advance of the new academic year. This year’s campaign was joined by 1,700 company staff who banded together to support some 2,000 children cared for by partner institutions and from families in distress.

The campaign’s geography spanned 23 cities where SIBUR has a presence and more than 30 of its sites and offices, including Amur Gas Chemical Complex, BIAXPLEN, Voronezh Synthetic Rubber Plant, ZapSibNeftekhim, Zapsibtransgas, Kazanorgsintez, the Corporate Centre, Krasnoyarsk Synthetic Rubber Plant, Petrochemical Transportation Company, Neftekhimiya, Nizhnekamskneftekhim, New Resources, Nizhnekamskneftekhim’s Preproduction Department, Nyagan Gas Processing Plant, SIBUR's Trade Union Organizations, Polyom, POLIEF, Portenergo, RusVinyl, SIBUR Innovations, SIBUR-Kstovo, SIBUR-Neftekhim, SIBUR-PETF, SIBUR-RT, SIBUR-Khimprom, SiburTyumenGas, SiburTyumenGas – Belozerny Gas Processing Plant, SiburTyumenGas – Nizhnevartovsk Gas Processing Plant, Yuzhno-Balyksky Gas Processing Plant, a branch of SiburTyumenGas, and Tomskneftekhim.

The volunteers collected essential school supplies, items of clothing, and backpacks for the children. All these gifts were handed over to the students to help them start the new school year fully prepared and in good spirits. Thanks to the combined efforts of SIBUR’s corporate volunteers, the children living in SIBUR's cities of presence not only received tangible material support but were also given a boost of positivity.

Nizhnekamskneftekhim and Nizhnekamskneftekhim’s Preproduction Department emerged as the campaign’s undisputed frontrunners: nearly 300 employees collected gifts for 234 children cared for by the Children Support Centre and by Vesta. The employees tried their best to make the kits that included everything from stationery to backpacks as useful and bright-looking as possible.

"I’m deeply moved by the eagerness and warmth shown by our coworkers as they got themselves immersed in our campaign’s activities. For the fourth year in a row, we have been working together to aid children who, as fate would have it, face financial adversity. SIBUR's Back to School campaign is an opportunity to imbue these children with joyfulness and confidence at the start of their school journey."

In the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, 125 employees from SiburTyumenGas, Zapsibtransgaz, the Belozerny, Nizhnevartovsk, and Yuzhno-Balyksky Gas Processing Plants, as well as Nyagan Gas Processing Plant, joined their forces to supply 486 children cared for by the company’s partner institutions with the needed school kits.

A father of two girls provided with school supplies in Nizhnevartovsk:
"I am a father of two girls, and I am a widower. It is very challenging to raise girls all on one’s own, let alone get them properly equipped for school. My daughters have been recipients of school supplies thanks to SIBUR's Back to School campaign for well over a year now. Your help is always very much needed and appreciated. The stationery and school items that you gifted us are truly needed by my girls. Colorful-looking homework diaries, notebooks, folders, pencil cases, pencils, painting kits, and many other things: all of these are a true sign of your caring attitude toward those who need it. Thank you for your support and help."

At New Resources, 201 employees from Krasnodar, Moscow, Svobodny, and Tyumen took part in the campaign by collecting the much needed items for 77 school students.

In the Republic of Bashkortostan’s Blagoveshchensk, 131 employees of POLIEF made their contribution to collecting school kits for 20 children from families in distress who are cared for by the Semya (Family) Inter-District Centre.

In Tatarstan, 130 employees from Kazanorgsintez, SIBUR Innovations, and SIBUR-RT joined the company-wide campaign and gathered school supplies for more than 20 future first-graders who had sought assistance from the Dobraya Kazan (Kind Kazan) charitable fund.

Thanks to the efforts of 123 Tomskneftekhim volunteers, 57 wards from three different organizations - the Ordinary Miracle charitable fund specializing in supporting families with special needs children, the Union of Parents of Children with Disabilities, Children with Health Limitations and Children Disabled Since Childhood association, and Seversk’s Without Borders non-profit organization of parents of children with developmental disorders got everything they needed for the upcoming school year.

At Voronezh Synthetic Rubber Plant, over 120 employees joined forces to help 47 wards of Voronezh’s Regional State Institution Voronezh Social Shelter for Children and Adolescents, whom SIBUR's corporate volunteers had been visiting with various educational, athletic, and creative events and activities for a number of years.

113 volunteers from Svobodny’s Amur Gas Chemical Complex helped 36 wards of the Svobodny Home of Children with Learning Disabilities, children from low-income families, and those in difficult circumstances and those cared for by Svobodny’s Lada social services center get ready for school.
