2023 saw Nizhnekamsk host the TIMERMAN Ski Marathon for the first time. 290 participants from 9 regions of Russia turned up to vie for the winning spots on the podium. The contestants who took part in the ski marathon raced over the distances of 5, 15, and 30 kilometers. About 950 people, including the skiers themselves, spectators and volunteers, turned up at the venue that local eco-volunteers used to educate the guests about the importance of sorting waste and recycling plastics. The event's site featured special containers for collecting used plastic bottles. In all, more than 800 bottles got collected at the marathon’s site and sent on for recycling.
