The Good Deeds Marathon is a SIBUR-sponsored project to mark the 75th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The Marathon is an opportunity for the company’s staff to carry out their own volunteer campaigns to commemorate Victory Day and to provide assistance to war veterans all year round, and not just on May 9.

The Project is the very first company-wide initiative devised by the experts of the Formula for Good Deeds social investment program working jointly with leaders of the volunteering movement and the company’s partners in the regions where the company conducts its operations. These activities are being carried out in Blagoveshchensk (Republic of Bashkortostan), Voronezh, Dzerzhinsk, Krasnodar, Perm, Tobolsk, and Tyumen.

The Marathon’s Objective

The Marathon’s objective is help create a truly celebratory and festive atmosphere for the veterans and to take good care of them, while keeping alive the memory of the Great War, without necessarily tying this to specific official dates in the calendar.

The Marathon’s Stages

01
Developing Methodological Guidelines

The Guidelines were developed jointly with the ambassadors of the Formula for Good Deeds Program by compiling scenarios of the most in-demand volunteering projects implemented to benefit war veterans and children of the war.

02
Setting up a grants contest for members of the staff

The contest was open not only to projects that are based on the Methodological Guidelines, but also to other original ideas conceived by the company’s employees together with their family members, or by non-profit organizations and social welfare and aid agencies.

03
Announcing winners and starting projects’ implementation

Financial and advisory support from the Formula for Good Deeds Program was granted to 10 of the best projects entered by company employees. The efforts to implement the projects commenced in August 2020. This work will continue in 2021.
