2022 saw SIBUR launch a series of dedicated volunteering challenges as part of its corporate volunteering program, People Changing the World. The challenges are aligned with the volunteering program’s focus areas including eco-volunteering, social volunteering, animal volunteering, silver volunteering, etc.

Throughout the year, members of the program team have been encouraging SIBUR Group’s employees to join its charitable initiatives by performing various good deeds and posting photo- and/or videographic testimonials of their contribution. Upon completion of each challenge, their participants were presented with certificates of SIBUR’s volunteers with the most active of them ending up getting invited to the company’s annual Volunteering Forum.

These volunteering challenges were designed to show the company’s employees all the diverse forms and formats of volunteering while driving home the idea that anyone is capable of performing good deeds.

TAKING PART IN THE CHALLENGES IS EASY:

Pick a good deed out of the list provided and perform it.

Use social media such as VK and/or CLICK to tell others about the good deed you picked and performed, using an appropriate hashtag.

Send photos or videos of the completed challenge to the volunteering program’s coordinators at volonter@formula-hd.ru and make sure to include any exciting details about your photo or video shoot.

We take part in tree planting activities here in Tobolsk every year. My child is growing up alongside the growing forest! Thank you so much for such worthwhile projects. I hope a time will come when people will be doing good deeds without a second thought. Like in that old cartoon, “Just for kicks”, remember? Whenever we help someone close to us or a complete stranger, we do good for ourselves and for everyone around us, Olga Orlova, the head of the Science and Technology Library, Department of Intellectual Property at Kazanorgsintez, and a participant of the SIBUR Family challenge, commented.

Every time I get involved in volunteering, it makes me realize that all of this is not for nothing. A yet another pet will be saved and this will make the person who adopts it happy, Yekaterina Munteanu, a human resources manager at JSC SiburTyumenGaz, and a participant of the Give Me Your Paw, Friend challenge, shared.

THE DAY OF THE GREAT TIT, AN EMPLOYEES’ PHOTO CONTEST

The Day of the Great Tit is an environmental festival brought into being at the initiative of Russia’s Bird Conservation Union and celebrated annually on November 12 just as he weather turns really cold and wintery. This has traditionally been the day to provide supplementary feeding and to hang bird feeders for overwintering bird species.

The team of the Formula for Good Deeds program invited SIBUR Group’s employees to join this good tradition and take part in a contest of bird feeder photos.

To provide guidance to the contestants, the program’s experts in coordination with professional ornithologists developed a manual for aspiring bird aficionados containing advice on how to help birds during different seasons, including guidance on how to build a proper bird feeder. The manual is accessible via the Documents section.

The Good Deeds Marathon — is a SIBUR-sponsored project to mark the 75th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The Marathon is an opportunity for the company’s staff to carry out their own volunteer campaigns to commemorate Victory Day and to provide assistance to war veterans all year round, and not just on May 9.

The Project is the very first company-wide initiative devised by the experts of the Formula for Good Deeds social investment program working jointly with leaders of the volunteering movement and the company’s partners in the regions where the company conducts its operations.

Charitable campaign “A Helping Hand"

In the wake of 2019 summer freshets, tens of thousands of Irkutsk Oblast’s residents found themselves facing an extremely precarious survival situation, having lost literally overnight all sources of their livelihood, their homes or subsistence from their homesteads.

At the call of Natalya Faskhutdinova, Assistant to the General Director of Krasnoyarsk Synthetic Rubber Plant, SIBUR’s sites set up relief aid collection points on their grounds. The Formula Good Deeds’ containers for collecting clothing for people in need were repurposed for a new task. A sweeping information campaign was conducted to inform willing participants about the start of a relief effort to help collect clothing and other items for the inhabitants of the Oktyabrsky and Nizhneudinsk municipalities.
