#YaBeregu (I Conserve) is a socio-environmental project that seeks to educate the public about the proper and safe ways of using personal protection equipment (PPE) and to build an infrastructure for collecting and disposing of used PPE. The project was included in Our Contribution ranking (2021) for its contribution in ecology
In 2020 and in 2021, the project was implemented in Dzerzhinsk, Kstovo, Tobolsk, Voronezh, and St. Petersburg.

In addition to paving the way to installing containers for PPE collection and disposal, the project helped build a professional team of trainers who recorded 10 video lectures in an effort to educate people about the informed use of PPE items and the principles of their disposal, and on how to stem the spread of the coronavirus infection.

In addition, separate collection and recycling of medical masks and gloves was arranged for at the St. Petersburg Open and St. Petersburg Ladies Trophy international tennis tournaments where SIBUR is an environmental partner. SIBUR ARENA hosted the project’s Environmental Days consisting of educational games and eco-themed quizzes open to all spectators, and an interactive “ecotalk” with games and quizzes for children. The events’ hosts taught the children about the importance of sorting trash and about other eco habits that will help them take care of the environment on a day-to-day basis.
In 2022, Noyabrsk, Tomsk, Perm, St. Petersburg, and Moscow saw a total of 163 containers installed for proper disposal of personal protection equipment, resulting in about a ton of PPE items being collected and recycled. On top of that, a number of free educational events were organized within the framework of the project, including an Environment Day at the SIBUR Arena held on the sidelines of St. Petersburg Ladies Trophy, a St. Petersburg-based International Tennis Tournament. The event’s lineup of speakers included eco-bloggers Georgy Kavanosyan and Roman Sablin. There was also a lecture by Anna Chigarina on the importance of proper disposal of personal protective equipment delivered at the Nature of the City eco-fest in Perm, as well as online lectures on conscious consumption, eco-activism, and the Zero Waste concept intended for schoolchildren from Tomsk and Noyabrsk. In addition, a video course consisting of 10 lectures and 5 animation videos on environmental topics was released for viewing, along with holding the #YaBeregu All-Russian Environmental Photo Contest, that attracted 1,841 application entrees.
