In the run-up to the start of the school year on September 1, employees of ZapSibNeftekhim held their annual Back to School campaign in a drive to collect school packs and other essentials for the future first-graders. This year’s campaign’s focus was on supporting the wards of Tobolsk’s inclusive organizations, as well as local children from large families.

The volunteers eagerly threw themselves at the task of collecting gifts, engaging whole departments and production units in contibuting their share. A sizeable donation came from the company’s grassroots trade union organization that had contributed to collecting children’s backpacks. In total, more than 100 ZapSibNeftekhim employees took part in the campaign.

Darya Cherepanova, an expert with ZapSibNeftekhim’s Department for Government Relations and Socio-Economic Projects:
“September 1 is just around the corner. It’s a holiday filled with joy and anticipation of new things. Thanks to the efforts of ZapSibNeftekhim’s volunteering community, we had been able to provide over 100 would-be first-graders with all the school essentials and thus turn the Day of Knowledge into a true festive occasion for them and their families.”

The list of this year’s beneficiary organizations included: the All-Russian Association of People with Disabilities, the All-Russian Society of the Visually Impaired, Tobolsk’s Social Services Center, the Otrada Association of Large Families living in Tobolsk, and the Orthodox School for Boys.

Oksana Ilyinykh, mother of Liza Ilyinykh, a beneficiary of the Tobolsk branch of the Society of the Visually Impaired:
“I would like to thank SIBUR’s employees heartily for their kindness and compassion. This was a very touching gesture that left my child with really vivid impressions and brought joy to our home.”

Olga Nepomnyashchikh, Chair of the Tobolsk branch of the Society of the Visually Impaired:
“We deeply appreciate SIBUR’s social responsibility and its employees’ active involvement in the life of our community. Thanks to the Back to School campaign, the children who are cared for by our organization were not only provided with essential school supplies, but they also got a sense that others do care about them. This inspires them to aim for loftier goals and helps them go through difficult times.”

Natalya Varavko, head of the Tobolsk branch of the All-Russian Association of People with Disabilities:
“For several years now, SIBUR has been helping our children with special needs get ready for school. Thanks to this support, these kids got provided with the essential school supplies that will help them feel more confident as they start school in the new academic year.”
