On Children’s Day, volunteers from Voronezhsintezkauchuk paid a visit to young patients who are being treated at the pediatric onco-hematology department of Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital No. 1. The visit came as part of SIBUR’s corporate From Heart to Heart campaign, supported by the Formula for Good Deeds social investment program.

For two weeks, the plant’s employees had been bringing toys to the special Box of Courage set up for the benefit of these children. These included toy cars, puzzles, creativity and building kits, mind-teaser games. They may be small gifts but they have been selected with great care.

The campaign was organized together with the charitable DobroSvet foundation. After arriving at the hospital, a representative of the foundation talked to the volunteers about the foundation’s activities and the nuances of volunteering at a medical facilities. The volunteers’ particular attention was drawn to the Apple Tree of Life set up in the hospital’s hall and decorated with apples bearing names of the children who had beaten cancer. Each child discharged from the ward gets a gold medal “For the Will to Win” and then proceeds to hang their own apple onto a tree branch as a symbol of resilience and hope.

At the meeting’s closing, the volunteers were presented with thank-you cards with children’s drawings.

Daria Mironenko, the project’s curator and a specialist at Voronezhsintezkauchuk:
“Being a part of something so meaningful constituted an incredible experience. It was truly inspiring for me to be able to curate the project. We will definitely come back here with more volunteering initiatives. I would like to thank everyone for their caring attitude and warmth of their hearts.”
