September 26-27 saw Moscow host SIBUR’s 6th Corporate Volunteering Forum, a flagship annual event of the People Changing the World corporate volunteering program. This year's forum brought together more than 200 participants from 30 of the company's cities of presence, symbolizing a new phase in the evolution of its volunteering movement.

The theme chosen for the 2025 Forum was The DNA of Volunteering with a focus on the core qualities and values underpinning good deeds: responsibility, mutual assistance, empathy, and readiness to change the world around us.

The forum opened with welcoming remarks by Elena Snezhko, head of SIBUR's Formula for Good Deeds social investment program. She highlighted the fact that the company's volunteer community has now grown to over 11,000 participants.

Elena Snezhko, head of SIBUR's Formula for Good Deeds social investment program:
“The DNA of volunteering is the gene of kindness that is common to thousands of SIBUR employees. It is thanks to you that volunteering has become an integral part of our corporate culture and our identity. This represents our commonly shared value and strength. SIBUR’s volunteers show that charity and kindness know no borders. They unite families, companies, and whole cities. I'm convinced that the strength of our movement is in its sincerity. Good deeds aren't measured in numbers or ratings; they live in children's smiles, in the gratitude of older people, in lives saved, and in the atmosphere of trust that we build around us.”

The first to speak as part of the forum’s main program was Egor Nikitin, an expert in corporate communications, AI, and digital projects, and creator of the online MAInd games simulator. He led a practical session on using AI tools in volunteering projects starting with automating routine operations to creating informational materials to promoting social initiatives.

The awards ceremony recognizing most active volunteers became the highlight of the forum’s first day. The awards were presented by Alexey Kozlov, a Management Board member, and Managing Director of SIBUR. Individual employees, plants’ teams, and the company’s partners were recognized in 11 categories: Social Volunteering, Family Volunteering, Eco-volunteering, Animal Volunteering, Intellectual Volunteering, Sports Volunteering, Blood Donorship, Breakthrough of the Year, Volunteer Leader, Volunteer Team, and Partners for Growth.

Alexey Kozlov, Member of the Management Board, Managing Director of SIBUR:
“This year is a special year for us. SIBUR has turned 30. Over these years, we've achieved outstanding results and together we have managed to build one of the country's top petrochemical companies. But SIBUR takes particular pride in its people. It is thanks to them and their efforts that volunteering has become a natural extension of our corporate values, a part of our culture, some kind of code of our company. Whereas less than 10% of members of our staff took part in the program's activities at the time of its launch, this number has now climbed to one third of our entire team. I'm confident that, in the long run, this will make SIBUR even stronger and more successful. I would like to wish all our volunteers a lot of energy, strength, and inspiration in your good deeds. May the world you're helping to make better always return you the favor in kind.”

The discussion panel Formula of the Strong: How to Succeed by Changing the World featured an impressive lineup of such speakers as the four-time Olympic champion Alexey Nemov, world freediving champion Natalia Avseenko, and actress Katerina Shpitsa. The discussion was moderated by theater and film actor Anton Bagrov. The panelists shared their stories of how volunteering had become an important part of their lives. Their experience has demonstrated that the desire to help and inspire others transcends professions and becomes a part of one's life journey. Bagrov's poetic appeal to the volunteers became the emotional culmination of the discussion.

The forum’s business program wrapped up with a lecture by Doctor of Economic Sciences Alexander Chulok, The DNA of Future Volunteers: What Global Trends and Forecasts Tell Us. The expert presented global trends and outlined the place of volunteering in the world of the future, while stressing that technology will never replace human care and empathy.

The 6th Forum confirmed that volunteering is part of SIBUR's corporate code. The company’s activists help children and adults, support families, take care of the environment and animals, advance sports, share knowledge, and even save lives by donating their blood. Volunteering is every employee's unique chance to produce a positive impact on society.

There is so much to think about, process, and most importantly, to start creating more and more! Thank you for this time!”
