On March 22, volunteers from the Amur Regional Branch of the National Council for Corporate Volunteering (NCCV) held a floristry masterclass, "Spring Bouquet", for 30 beneficiaries of the children's department at Svobodny's "Lada" Social Rehabilitation Centre. The event was timed to celebrate the arrival of spring and was supported by SIBUR's "Formula for Good Deeds" social investment programme, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year.

Corporate volunteers from Belogorsk and Svobodny, who are members of the NCCV in Amur Region, took part in preparing and delivering the pre-holiday event. Participating organisations included: Amur Gas Chemical Complex, Gazprom Heliy Servis, Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk, Belogorsk Locomotive Depot (Russian Railways), the Social Fund of Russia Branch for Amur Region, Transneft – Far East, the Rosreestr Office for Amur Region, Belogorsk Social Rehabilitation Centre, Tomskoye Secondary School, the Svobodny City Society of Parents of Children with Disabilities "My Vmeste", and the Department of Housing and Utilities and Urban Improvement of the Svobodny City Administration.

Elena Snezhko, Head of SIBUR's "Formula for Good Deeds" Social Investment Programme, Chair of the NCCV Regional Branches in Amur Region and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug – Yugra:
"In the year of the NCCV in Amur Region's fifth anniversary, it is especially gratifying to see that such an active community of corporate volunteers has formed in Amur Region. When representatives from different enterprises and organisations in the region come together to bring a celebration to children, it demonstrates a high level of corporate social responsibility. The work of our corporate volunteering community is precisely aimed at strengthening such connections. It is wonderful to see how the children mastered a new skill and took away not only floral arrangements but also a great mood. This is the main outcome of our joint efforts."

The masterclass was led by professional florist Evgenia Popova from the flower shop "Dari Tsvety". At the start of the event, the children received a safety briefing on working with tools. They were then introduced to the basics of floristry and types of flowers, learning the secrets of creating beautiful floral arrangements and what to pay attention to in the practical part: how to select colours, combine shapes, and arrange flowers in a vase.

Anna Bykovskaya, Deputy Director of the Svobodny "Lada" Social Rehabilitation Centre:
"We are grateful to the NCCV Amur Branch for this wonderful spring event for our children. Today's masterclass enriched our children's leisure time, making it interesting, useful, and educational. Such events also help foster positive parent-child relationships! We thank all the volunteers for their kind and open hearts! A huge thank you to everyone!"

After the theory session, participants moved on to practice – creating their own floral arrangements. Under the careful guidance of the florist and corporate volunteers, the children created floral masterpieces: each one turned out uniquely beautiful and vibrantly spring-like. The children also received recommendations on caring for their floral arrangements to ensure they bring joy to those around them for as long as possible. The event concluded with an exhibition and photo session of the finished works, a spring-themed educational music quiz, and a tea party.

Daria, 11 years old, event participant:
"I really enjoyed the masterclass. Today we created a bouquet from fresh flowers, which I gave to our mum. We learned a lot of new things about flowers and how to care for them. I especially remember the contests – we sang songs about flowers. I want to say thank you to all the adults who were with us today. They helped us, and they were all kind and cheerful. We became friends!"

Stepan, 12 years old, event participant:
"It was great, interesting, fun – lots of contests, lots of delicious cakes. Mum was very happy! My brother and I were there today, so now our mum has two whole bouquets."

Mother of a participant:
"I want to express my great gratitude to all the volunteers of the NCCV in Amur Region for this wonderful event! Milena really enjoyed it, and she especially enjoyed making such a beautiful and delicate bouquet of flowers herself."
