The Young Journalists' League project in Tobolsk drew to a close

29 april 2022

On April 29, Tobolsk’s School No. 9 became the venue for the closing ceremony of the Young Journalists' League’s video project titled 35. Thoughts, Opinions, Reflections... implemented as part of SIBUR's social investment program, the Formula for Good Deeds. The project consisted of classes focusing on teaching the basics of journalism, on how to maintain one’s own blog or produce TV programs, videos or a newspaper, and how to implement creative projects in general. The hard work of the budding journalists resulted in a video featuring the school’s prominent alumni discussing their school, upbringing, and education.

Galina Borodina, the manager of the school’s press center and the project’s mastermind, explained that the project was dedicated to the school’s 35th anniversary: The project centers on the reflections of our school’s alumni about the kind of contribution they have been making to preserving and maintaining the school’s legacy and traditions. We would like to thank SIBUR and all organizers of the contest of socially significant projects implemented as part of the Formula for Good Deeds program for their help and support.

The project’s aim was to create an informational and educational platform that would contribute to fostering unrestrained development of students' character and their successful integration into the life and culture of modern society through their engagement in amateur children's and youths’ media publishing activities. We would like to thank SIBUR and the Formula for Good Deeds program for the new opportunities they have offered us and we hope to be able to take part in joint implementation of further new projects going forward, Olga Klyuchko, Director of School No. 9, noted.

Journalists have never been mere chroniclers of history. Instead, they are active participants of key global events, something that requires one to have ample and top-notch professional competencies of a true professional. This project is well aligned with the company's sustainable development principles and is at the intersection of the two most important focus areas of SIBUR's social investment program, the Formula for Good Deeds: supporting culture and education. We would like to thank the organizers for their initiative as such projects help develop active local communities, Dzhamiliya Akhmatova, ZapSibNeftekhim’s leading specialist with the Department of government relations and socio-economic projects, commented.
