On the central square of the city of Svobodny, with grant support from SIBUR's "Formula for Good Deeds" social investment programme, the Municipal Budgetary Institution of Culture "Pyotr Komarov House of Folk Creativity" successfully implemented the fifth, jubilee Ice Cream Festival. The large-scale city event turned the open square into a space of carefree summer fun, where everyone's favourite treat became the main symbol of the day, and admission for all guests remained free.
</p>
<p>
The 2026 festival took place under the unusual motto "Ded Moroz and Summer". Evidently, our fairy-tale winter characters brought with them cold and bad weather on that day, but by the start of the festival the rain had stopped. Throughout the day, 23 play and creative zones operated on the square, where children and adults took part in masterclasses, quizzes and competitions, while young photographers expressed themselves in a special creative competition, "Captivated by Summer and Warmth". For their active participation, attendees received commemorative prizes and, of course, ice cream. The bright moments of the celebration included a concert featuring children's creative groups, a performance of "The Golden Key" by artists of the Trans-Baikal Regional Philharmonic from Chita, and an energetic programme from the PatiFon agency.
</p>
<p>
Around four thousand people – visitors and participants – attended the event, confirming the high demand for this format of family leisure.
</p>
<p>
<b>Irina Boldyreva, Director of the Pyotr Komarov House of Folk Creativity:</b><br>
<i>"For us, it is important not just to hold an event, but to preserve and convey that genuine joy that arises when children, parents and artists become part of a single creative space. The fifth anniversary festival proved that this format has truly taken root in Svobodny. Thanks to the support of the 'Formula for Good Deeds', we are able not only to give emotions but also to develop event tourism, strengthen the city's cultural traditions and create an environment where every child feels like the main character of the day."</i>
</p>
<p>
<b>Olga Omelchenko, project participant:</b><br>
<i>"We were a bit unlucky with the weather, but that did not stop the young residents of our city from attending this sweet and fun event. It is pleasant to see the shining eyes and smiles of the children and their parents. Music, fun, bright characters, an energetic performance, a concert by young artists of our city, an evening disco with a DJ – all of this scattered the clouds and allowed the celebration to take place!"</i>
</p>
<p>
The Ice Cream Festival has already become a fine tradition of the city's calendar, returning annually to the cultural events agenda of Svobodny. The implementation of the project in 2026 once again demonstrated the effectiveness of grant support for the development of a quality urban environment.
